OK, but really needs a facelift.Posted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: Staff, foyer and bar, as well as location.
Cons: Hotel rooms desperately need a refit.
The foyer, reception, and bar really are quite something, just like the ads on the site. However, thats just the hotel frontage. The rooms sadly don't meet with any of this grandeur. The phrase I was looking for is something along the lines of 'tired and unloved'. The rooms are a real letdown. The furniture and decor tired, old and desperately in need of a refit. The sheets are clean, even a couple of free beers in the mini bar, staff are polite and friendly, but not somewhere you want to stay long term. Basically, if you just want somewhere to crash in the evenings, its fine, but if you're going to spend a while in your room, you might want to look elsewhere. €28 for breakfast is overpriced for sure, try the place across the street.

central but that's itPosted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: The concierge and reception
Cons: Everything. See above comments
Location: Central, but ugly surroundings. The main square is only a 10 minute walk away
Where do I begin. The marble and gilded ceilings depicted on the website are an optical illusion. This may once have been 5 star, but probably when it was built in the 1920's. Our bedroom was classified as 'superior' but the carpet was threadbare, the washbasin did not drain, the shower head did not stay put in its place and the water came out of the shower head and the taps at the same time, the bath did not drain properly, the hairdryer dates back to the 60's and was too hot to hold after a couple of minutes, the adaptors would not stay in the sockets and you had to fight with the light switch in order for it to work and finally, the heating was broken. I would never, ever set foot in this hotel again. It is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in and I've travelled a lot! Stay there at your peril!

This is a great hotel with quick access to Metro and only a few blocks from the old section of the city.

Gamla charm, CentraltPosted Feb 26, 2015
Vi var i Bryssel tillsammans med vår dotter för att titta på en internatskola. Vi fick massor av intryck och trivdes i vår sviter.

Great hotel,central location.Posted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: Central location,great room...Room 518.Public areas beautifully restored,very ornate.
Location: Handy for everything central.Short metro ride to Atomium.Enjoyed sampling Belgian beers at Cafe Delirium which was a 10 minute walk away.
Stayed for a weekend break during February.Upgraded to VIP room with complimentary bottle of wine due to it being my wifes birthday.Room had been recently refurbished.Bar and restaurant very good and similarly priced to rest of city.Breakfast was included and was of decent quality.Don't know if I would have paid 28 Euros for it though....however that seems to be the going rate at city hotels nowadays.10 minutes walk from North railway station,5 minutes to Le Grand Place, bars and restaurants. The room had complimentary mini bar...2 beers,2cokes,2 bottles of water, topped up daily. It was a 15 minute train journey from airport.

Elegant hotelPosted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: The deco
Cons: The carpet needs changing. Few stains in some area of the room.
Location: So close to Grand Palace, lots of shop and restaurant to dine. Very close to Metro so easy to travel to and from Eurostar terminal.
We stayed there for two night for leisure on Friday and Saturday. Before that, I was staying with NH Du Grand Sablon for two night for my business trip. Such a difference... I was so happy to get out of NH hotel and experience the posher side of Hotel Metropole. We are so happy with the room, the location of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff.

Hôtel bien situé.Posted Feb 22, 2015

Hotel MetropolePosted Feb 17, 2015
We have stayed in the Hotel Metropole many times and have never been disappointed with the hotel or the service there. Excellent location to visit the centre of Brussels.
