“Nice hotel near airport”

There is an airport shuttle but check times with the hotel, it only runs certain days and hours. Hotel is modern, clean and I had a comfortable bed. The TV has a few channels in English, including the world news. This hotel is also close to a train station. You can take this train to do some shopping or sight seeing. The hotel is not in an area that has other restaurants or shops around so your only option in eating is the hotel restaurant, or to take the train somewhere. I only stayed in Belgium for 24 hours so this hotel was perfect for me. If you do take the train be careful when you come back to ask if the train you are about to board actually stops at Diegem. It may be going in that direction but not all trains make that stop. I got on the wrong train twice. Good thing I wasn't in a hurry.

“A business hotel not perpared for tourists.”

The NH Brussels Hotel is a hotel meant for business but have not yet prepared themselves for tourists. Finding the free shuttle from Brussels Airport takes a little immagination since it is a private driver and limousine and one is gathered in the Forum business lounge (who call the hotel to request the driver). On weekends, when we visited, the hotel is quiet and hotel food service is limited. The rate is also half the weekday rate. We found that there was little concierge support for guests and little local knowledge. We found a nice Italian restaurant in the little villiage a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. Now that we know how to access the hotel from the airport and our way around, we would stay again.

“Not too impressed”

I had booked this hotel based on the expectation that it would have free internet and breakfast. It provided only 1/2 hour of free wifi in the hotel lobby instead of the expected free internet. Additionally the breakfast was 20 euro per person. What surprised me most is that the airport shuttle only ran until 9.40 in the morning - requiring us to get to the airport 3.5 hours before our flight - definitely not what we expected from chosing to stay close to the airport. The room itself was nice but next time I will choose to stay somewhere else
