“Excellent Location”

The hotel was in an excellent location in an olde worlde square with cobbled streets (don't wear stiletto's!) and only 5 minutes walk from the Gare Central (turn left down some steps and up the hill for quick route) and just 10 minutes from the Grand Place. Rooms good with good facilities, comfortable beds, pleasant staff. Breakfast unless included not worth the rather high tariff. Full buffet but hot food was lukewarm and no reduction for continental only. Best to make for local cafe's en route to the Grand Place. Overall a great place to stay especially if you are going to the Christmas markets which were very enjoyable with good atmosphere. Close to route for City bus tours too. Very quick transfer from airport by rail and one stop from Gare Midi for Eurostar link.

“Good sight-seeing base in Brussels”

Value for money and great location make the Jolly Sablon a good choice for having a couple of days in Brussels. Lots of restaurants, cafes and bars close by, so you need not rely on the business-oriented Hotel's facilities. The Grande Place is about 10 minutes walk away.

“Excellent Brussels hotel”

We hadn't stayed here before, and found it very convenient for both the business stage of the trip and the later leisure stay! It's in a fantastic area if you like art and antiques, but we spent far too much at brilliant weekend antique market right outside the door. The hotel was lovely, staff very helpful, commissionaires very knowledgeable, room service terrific - my only quibble was the price of the breakfast which was at best average - we decided to go across the street to PAIN QUOTIDIEN shop wich had brilliant food and prices. We'd have no hesitation staying here again - but would do it on room only basis.

“Olde-worlde charm”

The hotel was lovely, in a great location and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The chaps on reception the weekend we were there were a trifle snooty, but otherwise the service was excellent. I would certainly return.

“Incredible”

Fantastic. I took my girlfriend here for her 21st Birthday, and had the time of our lives. The Hotel was absolutely fantastic, service was great, room was fantastic and in great condition. We ate at the hotel on two occassions and found it unmissable if you go to Brussels. Especially the lunch time menu. I found the staff very very helpful and polite, despite this feeling like a business hotel we were treated very fairly and kindly, would definatly go back. The hotel is situated in a perfect location, across the road is an Emporio Armani shop, and various top Choclatier shops, and 5 mins walk from the Grand Place. Only down points some may not like is that this hotel defiantly feels alot more like a business hotel, so if you would want a more laid back hotel then maybe somewhere else may be better. Also the breakfast is over priced but gorgeous.

“Excellent”

Excellent hotel-very nice and clean. Staff were very helpful. Location of the hotel meant everything was within walking distance which saved us money on taxis. Definitely recommend NH Hotel du Grand Sablon for anyone who is staying in Brussels.

“Not bad!......Better than I expected!”

After reading alot of the reviews I was a bit worried - and expected a tatty hotel with unmaintained rooms.....So was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the Hotel - the reception area was stunning , the staff friendly and very helpful and my room was immaculate! My ONLY 'gripe' would be I tried to contact the hotel reception by the phone in the room and they never answered - every time I tried there was never an answer. This in no way spoilt my stay .... I even had to stay in my room all day on the Sunday as I had a bad case of stomach flu...not used to the beer? But it was a lovely , comfortable place to stay - and the room was snug and warm - even though snowing outside! The bed was very comfy by the way - alot of people seemed to get lumpy beds from what I read! This was a great value for money hotel - and I was very pleased all round :-)

“Nice hotel”

Nice hotel. Couple of bars virtually next door but not noisy. Hotel room was large,clean and comfortable and the staff were pleasant enough. Daily market across the road from the hotel. Breakfast buffet was excellent and only a short stroll to get into the main square. Quick tip for any traveller, train station is only a short stroll away and I advise buying a return ticket to Brugge (about £10 return).

“Great hotel, great location”

Lovely restaurants near by, Rooms are large and clean. Air Con works really well! Will stay again. v close to central station, walking distance: 5/8 minutes with luggage.
