Looks a very good hotel, but some inadequaces!Posted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: The hotel has a very friendly cocktail bar where each evening a pianist plays to entertain residents. This and the bar staff made it very pleasing.
Cons: Certainly the communication between customers and room service which would avoid wasting residents time sorting out mix-ups! Include a teas maid !!
Location: The location is excellent , near to the Grand Place and central railway station! The shops are very close by and offer a great variation of produce.
The hotel appears on first impressions to be very smart and well appointed! The reception area is very well ordered and the staff are polite and helpful. We did receive some very helpful information from the concierge regarding a planned visit to Brugge. However, our room was a lot smaller than expected and to our astonishment did not include tea and coffee making facilities which are a standard in most hotels in the UK. You would expect a five star hotel to have this amenity without having to ask or pay extra....... Which is what we had to do! We also opted not to have breakfast in the hotel because of the expensive price quoted. Instead we used outside cafes which did make things difficult and used up more time in the morning. On two occasions we ordered breakfast from room service , but on both occasions mistakes were made and our order was incorrect....... The second occasion being that poor I had to take the tray back to reception. The cost of this breakfast was deducted from our final bill! These did spoil our stay in the hotel!

Beautiful 5 Star HotelPosted Nov 29, 2013
Pros: 1) Personalize greeting on the TV 2) Pretty city view of top of grand place 3) Efficient and polite staff 4) High quality towels
Cons: Very narrow tub and its best to stand side ways to the shower head and the sink drained a bit slow.
Location: Close to public transit and grand place
Clean, comfortable and safe

Fabulous!Posted Nov 22, 2013
Pros: The room was very comfortable, and had everything we needed.
Cons: The room was a little warm for us. We found that was the case in all the hotels in Europe.
Location: R.Windsor well positioned in a quiet street but only a few minutes walk to The Grand Place. The square has amazing architecture restaurants and shops
We arrived around midday and were only spending 1 night at The Royal Windsor. I chose this hotel because it was only a few minutes walk to the grandeur of the Grand'Place in Brussels. We were visiting Brussels to catch up with friends for the evening, and so barely had time to use the facilities. However the attention we received was equal to a lengthy stay. We were given an early check in by efficient and friendly staff. The following morning when checking out, we informed the desk that we were taking the train to Brugge, and asked for directions to the station which was walking distance from the Hotel. After asking if I could manage the distance with my bag, one of the desk staff, took our bags, and carted them all the way to the station. As well, he waited while I purchased the tickets, and went with us to the platform to assure that we were ok. After a friendly chat, he returned to the hotel. Definitely a 5 star service in my opinion!

Very convenient and value for moneyPosted Nov 22, 2013
Pros: The location and friendly staff.
Cons: The airconditioning/ventilation of rooms and consider reupholsering or replacing the furniture once every 30 years or so.
Location: Right in the historic heart of old Brussels and only a couple of minutes from the Central/Midi railway station.
This is an old style city hotel with soft decor and old style furnishings. Our room was small but very comfortable and clean. The only criticism I have is regards noise and room temperature: the air condtioning or heating control didn't seem to work. The room was slightly too warm, around 24 degrees, when I would have preferred around 18-20 degrees or cooler for sleeping, and some air recycling as such a small room can soon get humid and stuffy. I was able to open the window which helped but it also meant you could easily hear the constant hum of the boiler/generator below and you couldn't keep the window open all night without it also getting too cold and waking with the light of dawn. There was a sliding wooden shutter instead of curtains. The armchair by the window was extremely worn and damaged at the ends of the arms, which only added to the feeling that the hotel may have been 5 stars 40 years ago, but would be struggling to justify 4 stars now. But overall we had a very comfortable stay and the staff were very polite, friendly and helpful.

Ok roomPosted Nov 9, 2013
We had a room at a great price. Hotel right next to the old part of the city. Room was dirty (there were stains on the carpet). Normal prices are rather expensive. It was ok for the price we paid, but I would have been extremely dissapointed if we had paid normal prices to pay ourselves some luxury at a five star hotel.

Great location, almost in the heart of the city.Posted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: Its location
Location: Plenty of bars & restaurants, You will not go hungry or thirsty in Brussels!
Room was dated and very hot, even with the heating turned off. Had to have the window open which then made the room noisy with the night time revellers and the street cleaning, rubbish removal and delivery trucks. Brussels itself its wonderful, however, like everywhere that had adopted the Euro, very expensive. I will be returning to Brussels, but not staying at this hotel.

very good hotel for tourism downtown BrussellsPosted Oct 30, 2013
Pros: proximity to everything
Cons: I would have liked a coffee maker in the room for free (the option is there but costly)
Location: It is close to grand place, palais royal, manneken pis,
The staff is very helpful, goes a long way to help you with your stay but also with your touristic activities. It is close to everything by foot. It is in the hart of downtown so at night it is a bit noisy.

Great Hotel for a good valuePosted Sep 16, 2013
Very good hotel in a great location, just a few steps from the Grande Place. We were there during a music festival and our room was pretty quiet and comfortable.
