They are just outstanding people.

Posted Sep 30, 2014
Pros: Staff and location are just great
Location: the old market is walking distance.
So i didn't arrive on the day i was supposed to arrive on, and i was only staying for one night at sandton hotel, i was just having an awful experience because of Lufthansa, we were delayed for a couple of hours, so i missed my transit, and had to to stay at Frankfurt for a night; the night i was supposed to be at sandton in Belgium. I arrived at the hotel the next day in the morning to see what i can do, and here the staff was incredible, they gave me a room right away to take a shower and get some rest after this hectic couple of days and told me not to worry, just get some rest and we'll figure out the reservation thing. They gave me a room till the next day, an incredible room, they didn't charge me for the extra night or anything else, they were just incredibly good people, and i'll make sure whenever i am at brussels, this is the only hotel i will stay at.

Excellent hotel only a few minutes away from the metro stations. Short walk into the city centre. Staff were very pleasant and our room was very comfortable and clean

Great hotel, centrally located

Posted Sep 14, 2014
Cons: This was summer – the room was a little warn so we opened the windows at night and there were mosquitoes.
Location: The hotel is located around the corner from the central rail station and about a 10-minute walk from Grand Place.
We arrived early, well before checkin, and our room was available. Breakfast was plentiful, good, and had nourishing alternatives, with enough to make a sandwich for later. WE signed up (and got) breakfast included and king bed.

Comfortable, Great Location

Posted Sep 10, 2014
Pros: Space in the room for luggage, comfortable bed, quiet room. Staff polite and helpful.
Cons: As above - please mention the street name in both languages. It is central but hard to find if you are unfamiliar with the area.
Location: Right next to St Michael's Cathedral, close to Art galleries, shopping areas.
This was a good quality hotel and very central. One reason we choose it was its proximity to the Central Train Station (Gare Centrale) - only a few minutes walk. However, we had trouble finding the hotel! The address is on Parochiaansstraat, a very tiny street and it would have been helpful to know that the official name of the street in French is Rue de Paroissiens. In Brussels streets often have 2 names (French and Dutch) but only the Dutch version was on the website. Taxis refused to take us as it was so close, and we ended up walking in circles with our suitcases for about half an hour before finding the hotel. Once we did (it is ridiculously close to the station) all was fine: comfy room, nice shower, mini fridge and very helpful and polite staff. Excellent location now that we know exactly how to get there!.

Close to main visitor sites & area

Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: Hotel receptionist was very helpful with tourist tips and advice and advised us to take the train to Gant and Bruges which we are so glad we did.
Cons: The small things ie, no shower gel in the comp toiletries, wardrobe door should have been fixed, plug socket in bathroom not secure, no face flannels.
Location: Perfect city centre location, walking distance to all tourist hot spots.
We requested a quiet room and then had the joy of listening to very loud church bells ringing every hour! Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Although our room was quite small (and the wardrobe door was hanging off), it was clean and the bathroom was nice. It was 5 mins easy walk into the main area of Brussels where tourists will want to go and the hotel is a 10 min taxi journey from the Eurostar (Midi station).

Very close to the centre

Posted Aug 23, 2014
The hotel was nice and close, but more of a blank canvas than I had expected. Bathroom was a disappointment, and the shower wasn't great. Very large room though and comfy bed. The main entrance is looking a little tired and could do with a new luck of paint, especially as it not particularly cheap. But very easy access from the metro and walking distance (minutes away) from the Grand Place. I have coeliac disease and was told they do not cater for that at breakfast, so did not spend the 20€ for breakfast. My husband and I had breakfast out, and for a lot cheaper! Overall, the situation of hotel was great, but not as luxurious as expected for a 4* hotel.

Not many extras (like in-room coffee setup), but a solidly comfortable hotel conveniently located near Gare Central.

central location

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: Location, staff friendliness, breakfast buffet choice, artwork in the rooms and foyer.
Cons: Airing the rooms
Location: Well located. Proximity to cathedral, central station, Grand Square, shopping precint, comic strip museum, etc..
Whilst the facilities and breakfast buffet were very good, and our room (104) per se was nice, the room smelled of mould and the limited washing we did would not dry. Opening the window and door helped. Notwithstanding the preceding, I would happily recommend the Sandton hotel to others.
