Right opposite the rail station. But need to cross a bridge. It is killing if u have heavy luggages. The hotel is facing the canal without blockage. It is very romantic in the evening. There is no lift in the hotel. There is no room service. We have to carry the luggages up by ourselves. The breakfast is normal. Ultimately , it's good location n good price with breakfast included for a family of four.

wonderful hotel in central brussels

Posted Dec 16, 2013
Pros: above, and location was excellent, a short walk to everywhere we needed to go to.
Location: Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp are all close by and deserve a visit. Atomium a must-see. in good weather, consider renting a bike.
hotel turned out to have a superb location, opposite the Theatre de la Monnaie, really on a plaza, so there is no car traffic noise. it is accessible easily by transit, located 1/2 way between Brussels Centraal and de Brouckere stations. hotel has a theme of a monastery, polyphonic music playing, but it is totally up-to-date. security fine. room is typically Euro-small, but efficient. bed totally comfortable, has in-room safe, in-room coffee and tea, good wi-fi. only criticisms of room: no really good dresser/storage for items like dirty clothes, and the lighting scheme was darker than I prefer overall. however, for reading, lighting was fine. bathroom good size, shower a delight. we saw the huge breakfast buffet, but did not partake (it is pricey, but a lot of well-made items on display). dinner in restaurant excellent, good value. desk staff very helpful, multilingual friendly. brussels is a grand experience, hotel helps it. nearby are many restaurants, museums not too far away by walking: main museum complex (Magritte!). winter fest is all around center of city, sound and light show at Grand Place is a wonder. chocolate is great, but the beers are better. city is kid-friendly, lots to do, too. city abounds in shopping, with a covered gallery about 100 m toward Centraal. outside hotel, get breakfast at several places on the street, and also near is a district with wide variety of restaurants. try an afternoon beer ( or hot chocolate) on Gran' Place

Christmas Shopping

Posted Dec 10, 2013
Pros: The bed was of a good size and very comfortable.
Cons: The breakfast is expensive but there are plenty of other options within walking distance.
Location: This hotel is conveniently located behind the opera house and close to the Grand Place, the train station and the shopping areas.
We arrived late in the evening for a three night stay. We travelled with our baby girl and we were provided with a travel cot in our room, following a request made at the time of booking. Our room was of a good size and of modern decor. The room tended to be a little too warm and rather stuffy but otherwise clean and comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant on one occasion and found the food to be good and reasonably priced. The hotel is ideal for a short city break.

Elegant hotel in a quiet yet central location

Posted Dec 4, 2013
Pros: Location, decor, ambience, friendly staff
Cons: Soft mattress
Location: There are plenty of restaurants within a stone's throw. Try the Italian restaurant 'Ricotta & Parmesan', virtually across the road - excellent pasta!
The Dominican is in a great location, a short walk from the Grand Place & shopping areas. It looks elegant from outside, and inside is no disappointment either. We booked a deluxe double room, which was a reasonable size for a City centre hotel, and we were pleased with the decor (contemporary, but not beige!). The bathroom was great - we were given a choice of shower or bath when we checked in, and chose a shower, which was one of the best we've seen in hotels. It had a huge shower (I think they call it a drench shower - it has a huge showerhead and was very powerful!) The room also had tea/coffee making facilities, with a proper coffee machine (they supplied the pods). The only negative regarding the room would be the bed - it was extremely soft (there was a tempur-style topper on a soft base), to the extent that you felt as though you were sinking into it all the time! Some people may like this, but if you prefer a firm mattress I would check with staff if they are available in other rooms. We didn't use any of the facilities (bar, restaurant, etc) as everything is so close by, but everything looked great, and we would definitely choose this hotel again if we return to Brussels.

Fantastic Hotel

This is great hotel. beautiful bedrooms and public rooms. We had a room with a just a shower and although I am not a fan of over head showers the volume of water that flowed has made me a convert. A couple negatives would be our room had blinds at the windows which meant the room wasn't completely dark and we were woken my the early morning light. The other is the cost of breakfast, which while I am sure it is really nice it is very expensive. Lots of local coffee house and bakeries were a good alternative.

Comfortable central hotel

Posted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: The quiet, spacious room, the bathroom and the deluxe bathroom
Cons: Cleanliness of the walls in the bedroom, explanation of the lift!
Location: A five minute walk away from the Grand Place. It's so central!
We spent one night at the Dominican, booked via Expedia, for the Christmas market. It is so central and just a five minute walk away from the Grand Place. Amazing! Our room was quite spacious for a central city hotel, complete with a couple of different seating options. The Nespresso machine was an added perk. The room was incredibly quiet, only being able to hear emergency vehicle sirens every now and again. The biggest perk was that the bed was so incredibly comfortable; I haven't slept so well in a long time! The bathroom was fantastic - an AMAZING shower really topped it off! However, the minor niggles: the wall next to my side of the bed had "stuff" splattered at the bottom. I dread to think what it was. Also, working out how to use the lift was tricky. It shouldn't be, I know, but different hotels have different security levels. At previous hotels, in order to allow access to the lift you have to tap the room key onto a pad. Not so at the Dominican. A rather embarrassing 5 minutes passed as we tried to leave the ground floor to ascend to our room... Eventually a more experienced guest came to our rescue, but this could have been avoided if the (pleasant) hotel staff had quickly explained how to use the lift!! Breakfast would have been an extra 27 Euros per person, so instead we ate at a local café for 6.80 Euros
