Thon Hotel Brussels Airport

We stayed here for one night between flights. Good location for the airport but not for sightseeing. Also there is only the hotel restaurant as a dinner option. We did not have breakfast there as it was very expensive.

The price of the room seems a bit high for the return. We booked a double room, the beds were twin beds. The room was clean but well used. The folks at the front desk are friendly. Beware of an early check-in fee in you show up before 2pm. They have free shuttle from and to the airport. If you need to get to Brussels from the hotel, it will be an expensive cab fare. There is a way to get a very cheap fare by train to town near the hotel but it is not obvious on how to get there; and coming back the same way, you better leave crumbs behind on how to exactly get back to the hotel. The room is very quiet, did not hear any airplanes flying around, that was a major plus. If we ever have to stay near this airport, we probably do a little bit more shopping around.

I arrived very late. The receptionist addressed me with my name right away. I was impressed by recognition. It tells me that he has a lot of experience in hospitality. He gave me extra packages of coffee for the morning because I do not eat breakfast. It was very nice from him and very smart. I requested wakeup call and taxi early in the morning to drive me to the airport. Everything was on the time. Even drive to do airport in the morning was complementary of hotel. I was short time there, but I was very impressed.

The hotel does not warn its clients that it has no shuttle service over the weekend. Instead, it offers taxi service, which makes the rates 30 EUROs higher.

Clean, warm, friendly, excellent location for where I was working. There's not a lot going on around the hotel district but a 10min walk gets you to the town or to the train station direct to the centre of Brussels.

No shuttle service on weekends and restaurant was closed. Went to Holiday Inn to have dinner.

For a short or overnight stay near Brussels Airport this hotel does the job. Food is quite good and staff are friendly and helful. Room was functional and clean, bed was very comfortable. This is not a place for a romantic week end but then again it is not set upfor that. Of its type it is very good.

One limitation:there are no courtesy shuttles sat and sunday ,so u must travel by taxi :add 20 eu to the bill. Good news is that if u need to prepare a presentation for monday ,saturday and sunday this is the place ,as the hotel is almost empty (in Europe ,biz people dont say too much weekends out of home) :silent and peaceful.
