We stayed in this motel for two nights during our visit to Bryson City, a quaint little town whose main attraction is the old Great Smoky Mountain Railroad station and the passenger train than takes tourists on sightseeing tours to the Nantahala River and back. The motel sits on a hill just about a block away from the middle of town.

When we arrived, the initial room was not to our liking. We talked with the gentleman at the front desk who put us in a much larger room for a very small fee. It was worth every penny and more. Great views of the river, excellent room, comfortable place to unwind after a long day of hiking, exploring or kayaking. The room was a little dated but I am not really looking for the latest in decorative ideas when staying at a hotel on a hiking trip to the Smokies. If I was here on a business only trip - maybe not what I want. If I wanted to take a family out for a great week in a National Park and was looking for the perfect place to unwind and relax, this place is definitely the ticket. Super close to great hikes, kayaking, fishing, boating, waterfalls, shopping. I am definitely staying here on my next trip to the Smoky Mountains - no doubts at all.

I booked a cabin over a month in advance and subsequently received multiple confirmation prior to my arrival. When I arrived on my check in date, they had cancelled my reservation with no notice. They claimed to be all booked up, so I had to drive around for an hour and a half with my wife and two small children until we finally found lodging. This place is the worst ever! Stay away if you know what's good for you.

Hotel was in a great location and was clean. However, it reminded me of motels that my family stayed in when I was a child, 45 years ago. I would think twice about staying here again. For the money, I expected something more modern.
