“A DISASTER!!!!!”
We drove for 14 hours straight and were ready for our 2 rooms, duly reserved, paid for up front (no cancellations and no refunds), and confirmed ahead of time by e-mail. We got there before midnight as our Expedia reservation stated. Come to find out that our room was canceled!! And not by us and not by Expedia. The guy at the desk shrugged and said, "sorry, can't help you. We didn't cancel it (which was not true, as we later found out)". We later speculated - tho' can't prove it - that they had sold our room and cancelled us, leaving it to us to deal with it. The sofa bed had no blanket, the mattress was nothing more than a foam pad (my friend slept on it with it folded up), they had two conditioners and no shampoo in the shower, and not enough towels (what is it with hotels and towels anyway?!). Oh, and there was a coffee pot but no coffee to put in it. The ceiling fan made a squeaking noise guaranteed to drive you insane and it was so loosely installed that we didn't use it for fear it would fall on our heads.I will never go to a Holiday Inn Express again unless the only option is sleeping with the scorpions.
