“Very Good Place to Stay”

The hotel was in a safe, quiet neighborhood, close walking distance to the park, restuarants, shopping. Room was very clean & comfortable. Had an in room 'safe'. Had an elevator, which was great for my senior father. We felt that 10 euros per person for the continental breakfast was high as the selections were limited. (we paid after our arrival, choosing at time of booking might be less) The offer for the Shuttle service to or from the airport l is only one way, however the rates were very good. Overall, we would definately stay there again.

“Brandnew hotel in the city centre of Budapest”

“Friendly but far”

The hotel itself is nice and clean although my room was a bit warm and the hotel is very friendly. However, it is a good distance from the main Rd it's off of and a good distance from where the areas of town and attractions are. If your willing to wait on and take a taxi anytime your ready to go somewhere the location isn't too bad but, anytime you get a taxi have an agreed amount before ordering or getting into the cab. But, if your like me and don't want to wait it's about a 10 minute walk to the metro rail, then you hop on the red line and go down 3 stops to the Astoria and go from there as all the better shops, restaurants and attractions are there or you can get to eaily from there. I found everyone to be very nice and had no problems riding the metro rail even late at night but if your a single female you may want to stay at or near the Astoria in the center of town.And accoring to the map the Astoria is both a street and a hotel both in the same location. But if your looking for quiet and want to be away from the hussle and bustle and dont mind a taxi ride or riding the metro then the Actor is for you.

“This is NOT a four star hotel.”

This hotel, although clean and new on the inside is in a very dilapidated part of Budapest. There are NO TELEPHONES in the rooms for a start. The rooms are quiet bare and very basic save for the flat screen on the wall. The service was basic and English was problematic. The food was very basic too. Lunch and dinner was just one meal on the menu, no choices! Breakfast is continental style, but not very good.Bottom line, THIS IS NOT A FOUR STAR HOTEL BY ANY MEANS!I would give it 2 stars. Another thing- it is really quiet a distance from the main shopping and tourist areas- about 30mins by taxi. You cannot walk there and I would not recommend it as its in a rough area of town. You would be better off in the Marriott or the Meridian Hotel.
