“Unique and Budget Friendly”

I found the boathotel to be a rather unique and fun experience in my travels. Great staff and good breakfast. The rooms are somewhat small as is typical in Europe. It was great each evening to finish the day on the back deck with an awesome view of the lighted castle and Chain Bridge. Metro 3 takes you directly from the airport drop-off from bus #200 to the Lehel ter station. Then it's just a couple of blocks. Bus #76 and #79 drops you off one block from the hotel. Vorosmarty Square, a main tourist strip, is only a few metro stops away.

“Great Location”

Location was great and you could sit on the deck and watch the boats go by..

“Lovely view of the Danube bridges from the hotel suite”

The suite was roomy and comfortable with access to the deck. The bathroom was quite small, with a shower, no bath tub. Breakfast was ample, nothing special. Staff was helpful and cordial. The immediate neighborhood is charming; getting to the trams and subways is a walk.

“A unique stay in Budapest”

The hotel overlooks the Margit Sziget on the Pest side of Buda. It is walking distance to the Nyugati Rail Station. The area surrounding the hotel is a business and residential neighborhood that is safe to walk. But you must cross the Dunapart motorway. One reminder, though it should seem obvious, you are on a boat and as such the first floor overhead / ceiling is low. The windows do not open and the bathrooms are classicly marine. The bathroom area is small. The sink is small and the shower drains directly into the floor with no capture pan keeping the bathroom floor dry. Other than that the stay is fairly quiet and the staff is helpful.

“Great for a short stay in a superb location”

The hotel was excellent value for money (booked as a last second deal). The breakfast served was one of the best we ever had in a hotel. The staff aren't overly friendly or helpful though. Particularly in the restaurant. Great location for central stay.

“Good location, good view, nice people, no air conditioning . . .”

Hotel was clean, and the location was excellent. Rooms were small, but we expected that since we knew it was a boat. The only real problem we had was that the air conditioning did not work very well, and not just in our room. Everyone we spoke to had the same problem. They tried to fix it, but they were not very successful. It was August so it was quite warm, and the window did not open either so we were stuck. Other than the A/C it was fine, just don't go there when it is hot.

“Budapest's floating hotel”

Basic but clean boat hotel. Room was small but clean. Bathroom was also small but functional. Shower was powerful and plenty of hot water. Twin roomed, beds were narrow. Breakfast fine, but no "proper" tea (they don't seem to drink it in Hungary!) About 20 minutes walk from Parliament, straight along river front, so easy to navigate. Overall good if you want somewhere to sleep without all the frills and extras that cost more.

“quiet and convenient”

The rooms and shower rooms are pretty small and the walls thin. As I was travelling alone and there were few other residents at the time it wasn't a problem for me personally. It's a few hundred yards from Margaret Bridge so handy for trams 2 (goes south alongside the danube) and 4 and 6 (to Pest side and arcing around centre). There's a pretty good range of tv channels inc cnn and bbc. The breakfasts were a little erratic and only available 8-10am, whether you were offered hot food[omelette/scrambled eggs] seemed to depend on which member of staff was on - and I'm still waiting for one omelette! I also dined there on an evening and found the three set 10 euro 3 course menus (see the card in the room)good value.

“Not a peaceful nights sleep”

Unfortunately we had a group of teenagers who sat on deck outside our room getting louder as the night went on until midnight when they came in and proceeded to stomp up and down the corridors til 1am. We checked out early and into another hotel after the adjacent room took a half hour shower, starting at 1am, the final straw.
