Basic hotel

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Great location but really basic, definitely not a 4 star hotel! 45 minutes to check in as only 1 member of staff on at reception - and it was only 6.45pm! TV had news channels only so couldn't watch anything but news especially when it was heavy rain and thunder outside! Breakfast was slightly chaotic! No tea/coffee making facilities or iron in the room! Overall just an average hotel!!

Clean and neat and conveniently located

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: Liked everything about the hotel
Cons: Rooms could be a bit larger, but they are adequate.
Location: Located near the Danube and many local historical sites are within easy walking distance
Boutique Hotel Zara exceeded expectations in all regards. Helpful friendly staff offered hints and advice on directions to popular sites. Excellent buffet breakfast. Neat clean rooms and very convenient to use the city busses. Easy walking distance to many local historical attractions and museums. Only one block from the Danube and just across the river from the Buda side. Great hotel.

Convenient Hotel

Posted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: Reasonable, good location, friendly/helpful staff, breakfast included
Cons: Room A/C struggled to keep room cool
The Boutique Zara Hotel is located adjacent to the "walking Street" in Pest. Public transportation is excellent, with both "metro" (subway) and tram (streetcars) nearby. The very intresting "central market" is also very close. Room is small, particularly if you are travelling with a lot of luggage

Charming boutique hotel

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness, efficient A/C, breakfast and excellent staff.
Cons: Probably nothing, short of room insulation.
Location: One block to Vaci utca, two to Market Hall and Danube promenade. Metro station short walk away.
The location of the hotel was great, couple of blocks to the tram along the Danube and the fabulous Great Market Hall, a short walk to the Kalvin ter 3 metro station and just around the corner from Vaci utca, a long pedestrianized street full of restaurants & shops. I had a City Single room and it was extremely tiny, room for the bed, nightstands and a skinny desk, no comfy chair to sit in. As I was travelling solo this was ok, but for a couple it would not have suited. Window opened on a courtyard, so leaving the drapes open was not really an option. Walls were paper-thin and I could often hear conversations in room next door; always travel with earplugs! On the plus side, breakfast buffet was included and there were many tasty options, room was very clean and d├ęcor was pleasing and modern. The front desk staff were friendly, knowledgeable and always ready with a helpful answer. I would stay here again but probably in a bigger room.

Can't ask for any better value for money!

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Pros: Convenience for everything we wanted to do.
Cons: Restaurant could be a little larger when busy for breakfast
Location: River, Hop on Off buses, tram, metro, shops
Hotel is conveniently situated for all amenities. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are smaller than some but perfectly adequate for our needs. They were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. We ate in the restaurant several nights which we found excellent value for money as well as being very good food. Overall an excellent stay.

Nice hotel in quiet street

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Quiet clean and friendly
Cons: Room may be a little smal if staying for a long time. We only had 2 nights so didnt even unpack
Location: Quiet central location next to pedestrianised shopping area. Lots of restaurants close by. Close to metro and trams
Small very quiet hotel. Very well situated for walking around city sights. Lots of little restaurants just round the corner and huge indoor market. Trams and metro also very close. We took a bus and metro from the airport and it was so easy. Staff were very helpful and we had a meal in the retaurant the first night. It was excellent. Breakfast was included in the price. It was buffet style with plenty to choose from. Very good value hotel. I would definitely stay again.

Excellent location.

Posted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Coffee/tea making facilities.
Location: Close to transport links, also Market Hall. Visited zoo, transport museum, Margaret Island and walked miles within the city.
Hotel was in excellent location, close to trams, metro and bus services. Breakfast was ample, although if you were down later the cooked items weren't always replenished after 9:30. Would recommend taking own tea bags if you are particular over your morning cuppa. Ate in the restaurant one evening, food of a very high standard as was the service.. All staff encountered were friendly. On the down side I found the bed very hard (though this is probably a personal preference). Bedroom was on the very small size which as the weather was great wasn't a problem as didn't spend a lot of time in the room. It would have been good to have had coffee/tea making facilities in the room, or even access to making one in the breakfast room during the day/evening time.

Pleasant, comfortable hotel close to city centre.

Posted Jun 18, 2014
Pros: A comfortable lounge to relax in at the end of the day, with TV. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast!
Cons: Thicker walls or better insulation between rooms!
Location: Close to the river and easy walking distance to most places. Ideal from which to explore Budapest.
Clean, well appointed room, if rather small: sounds from adjacent rooms can be heard, if you are unlucky, but this did not spoil the overall favourable impression of the accommodation. Rooms air-conditioned. Lots of good eateries nearby. Worth booking the airport shuttle, collect and return, through the hotel.

Nice hotel very well located.

Posted Jun 13, 2014
Pros: Well priced. Very nice meals.
Cons: Larger rooms would be nice but this is impractical. The hotel is really very good as it is.
Location: Central Market, Danube River, Gellert Spa all within easy walking distance.
Our three day stay at the hotel was very pleasant. The hotel provided a wonderful breakfast and other meals were very affordable. The hotel was close to many Budapest attractions. Rooms are small but nevertheless adequate.

Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent!
