Wonderful Hotel

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Old world elegence with modern conveniences.
Cons: Wanted to single beds but was unavailable, staff worked very hard to change our room around to accommodate our needs
Location: Location was just outside of the busy tourist area, but very close to trams and subway lines, very easy to use public transportation,
This is a wonderful hotel with very help full staff, very nice breakfast, old world luxury with the modern conveniences, Quite rooms ample bathrooms. Right on a tram stop, easy to get around Budapest from here. The Executive plan was a great idea with a separate check in area and food and drink all day. I would stay here again.

Five-star rooms, pricey extras, iffy location

Posted Jul 26, 2014
This is a splendid hotel with gorgeous rooms and common areas. If you like paying $13 for a bag of chips or a bottle of beer, or $40 for breakfast, then by all means enjoy the minibar or dining room. It is located more than a kilometer from the prime areas around the Danube, but only a couple of blocks from the VIII district, an area so dodgy that locals strongly warn not to walk there. Do not, therefore, turn left when exiting the hotel. I would suggest taking a hotel closer to the river, to be closer to the sights and farther from the slums.

Beautiful hotel but away from the heart

Posted Jul 23, 2014
The hotel and staff were excellent. Very smart, polite and attentive. Air conditioned throughout which made our stay even more enjoyable given that the weather was very hot. Beautiful spa facilities. The only drawback is that the hotel is located a bit too far from the hub of the city, down by the river. Didn't eat at the hotel as it looked a bit expensive while there were cheaper options nearby.

The Most Truly, Grand Budapest Hotel

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Amazing facade, rooms, spa, lounge, cafe and a lobby that has the European wow factor.
Location: Franz Lizst Square (of course different in Hungarian), is teeming with hip, trendy cafes and bistros, not to mention one amazing concert hall.
From the moment you enter the gorgeous lobby, to the welcome plate of macaroons and other sweets that await you, to the extremely friendly and helpful staff, (Peter at the front desk stood out especially), to the live music, amazing restaurants, cafes, lounges and spa, this hotel exceeds my definition of luxury. Also, the location is amazing. Not far from Franz Liszt Square (among other major sights and thoroughfares), the equsitie facade, marbled lobby, violinists serenading dinners all lend themselves to the grand notion of what Budapest is (and has sought to be since 1896 - see your tour guide for details). I dinned in a few nights at the Corinthia's restaurant, and while waiting, was brought a paper to rear, treated like royalty and, of course, the food was delicious.

5 Star - Breathtaking atmosphere

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: Location is perfect. Beds are sooo comfy. Price is great and worth it!
Location: Great Pizza, donairs, etc right by the hotel. 2 block walk to the Octagon. Bike rental stations located right close. Must do an Escape while here.
Amazing Hotel for an Incredible Price! Located in the perfect location, walking distance to the thermal baths, restaurants, Octagon, and river. Great staff always willing to help with your questions. Comfiest bed we have ever stayed in. Great Pool and amenties, we unfortunately ran out of time to check this out, but our friends who have also stayed here said its amazing!! Bike rental stations were just new so as a tourist you couldn't easily rent a bike but in the next month or so it will be so handy with about 30 stations to leave your bike around Budapest, very much wish we could have took advantage of this feature. Definitely recommend doing an escape while in Budapest (TRAP) and checking out a thermal bath. When we come back to Budapest, we will definitely stay here again!

Lovely hotel good location

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Location: Must visit the new York cafe whilst you are there , turn left from the hotel and it is a short walk . Also margit island .
Beautiful hotel, very friendly staff, large spacious room, the only down point was the price of the breakfast 29euros each person each day. The price of the breakfast is not displayed anywhere in the hotel or on the Internet. There was a good selection on offer , but was too expensive. But overall I would recommend this hotel .

Perfect hotel in the centre of Budapest

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: We found our stay in the hotel so comfortable that it was the highlight of our stay in Budapest
This hotel is sumptuous. It is centrally situated in Pest. The ambience is restful and peaceful. We found the concierge Tamasz to be so helpful and the staff enthusiastic about the hotel and its facilities. The history of the hotel is fascinating. Around it are a number of wonderfully different restaurants, cafes and the hotel is within walking distance of the River Danube, and most tourist attractions
