“Will go back next year again”

This hotel is mainly for coach groups or conferences,but takes individual guests as well.The breakfast is taken in the standard Hotel which is linked by a glass enclosed gangway to the Superior Hotel.At peak times with large groups or conferences present,the Restaurant may become very full,but breakfast is still ample , buffet style. The advantage of staying at the Superior Hotel ;one has an extra lounge/dining room with small table,sofa and armchair and a dining table with 2 chairs.There is also a small kitchen with microwave which is useful to prepare small meals.The Hotel is situated on the outskirts of Budapest near the Buda Hills, but a convenient bus route nearby will link you up to the Metro and other busroutes to the centre..

“Certainly not a 4 stars - no idea of basic western standards”

Attending an international conference. The conf centre is very nice. The hotels (2 on premises) will leave you highly disappointed. The "4 star" one had no air conditioning, bed linen too small for the mattress - so you end up sleeping on mattress directly, door to balcony had a broken so the door was closed shut with a screw. Amenities were non existant: one milti-purpose soap dispenser, for example. The apt was advertised as featuring cooking facilities: equipment included -in total- 2 knifes, one dish and one pan. Furniture was essential (cheap motel by western standards) but functional. TV was non functional. Other than that, the unit was spacious. Restaurant (at the 3 star) run out of food the evening before the opening of the conference and service was minimal. Room in the 3 star had a headboard too small for the bed, so the mattress went under the suspended night table (hope you do not poke an eye during the sleep). Overall: almost complete lack of western customer care standards, somewhat incredible for such a large facility. These comments were common with all attendees. A few splattered roaches here and there (on stairs to entrance of 4 star, for example). Frankly a major let down. Budapest is an outstanding place and does not deserve this embarassement.
