“Tried Very Hard”
I would recommend this hotel to others if you are willing to stay 2 bus stops from the Pest side of the city...Frank at the front desk was extremely knowledgeable on all forms of transport and Budapest's (or for that matter Hungary) history. His english was very good...If he did not know it he went right on line and found out for us...The front desk also arranged tickets for the Gellert baths and transport back to the airport for our trip home...The hotel is modest by American standards...and very clean.
“Would gladly stay again & highly recommend!”
The staff were extremely gracious, warm, welcoming and most helpful with every detail and need from the very beginning until the morning we left. Our room was cleaned well every day, and the buffet breakfasts were a delicious bonus with fresh pastries, eggs, bread and other treats.
“Would go there again.”
We wanted a small hotel in the Buda area that was within walking distance to some sites (Castle Hill) and had easy access to buses to get to other places. This hotel fit the bill. The hotel staff was friendly, personable and very helpful. Our room was small but comfortable. The on site restaurant was convenient since there was no others nearby but the food was overpriced and underwhelming. The daily breakfast that was included was great, though! There was also a small convenience store a block away that we visited almost daily for snacks and drinks.
“Wonderful Small Friendly Hotel Close to Downtown Budapest”
We stayed recently at the Gold Hotel in Buda to attend a wedding of the daughter of some old friends from Hungary. This hotel is a gem---very friendly and helpful staff, clean and well run, internet access and WiFi available. We'd stay there again!!
“A Must Stay Hotel”
The hotel is beautiful inside and out. The front desk staff is extremely friendly and courteous, going above and beyond to accommodate our needs more than once without us even asking. Their English was great making communication a non-issue. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Located very near public transportation stops and within walking distance to the Citadella and Buda Castle. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.
“OK experience”
Staff was pleasant & helpful, especially restaurant. Breakfast wasn't that great, but other meals good and a good value. Biggest problem was narrow twin beds in room, no rooms with larger beds available. For a 4-night stay, that annoyed me. Wi-Fi service excellent. Location not that great, but price low.
