“We stayed in this hotel and we have run out of superlatives to describe the hotel and our stay there”

If you want a sprawling hotel all glass and chrome, no personality and crowds in the dining room each evening then this hotel is not for you. However if you want a small and intimate hotel (only 25 rooms)spotless in every respect and so friendly that you are on first name terms with all the staff within hours of arriving and feeling like home from home then this is the hotel for you if you are visiting Budapest. The hotel is superbly situated at the foot of the Gellert Hill and a twenty minute walk to the castle which you can see from the hotel. Bus stops are almost right outside the hotel. Tickets can be bought in the hotel and the staff are more than happy to help with advice on what to see where to go and how to get there and they are genuinely interested to find out your opinion when you return. I can recommend this hotel to anyone and I would not hesitate to book this hotel again if and when we return to Budapest.

“Fantastic place to stay!!”

What a great place to stay. There were nine of us staying in the apartments detached from the main hotel.Although there wasn't air-conditioning in these apartments, we bought a small fan and the room stayed comfortably cool at night. The rooms were very clean and comfortable.The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food in the hotel restaurant was very good and the staff there made sure the food was to your liking. Transportation to various places of interest was very accessible. Although my father was fluent in the language, the staff was very capable of communicating with us in English. We can't wait to go back.

“Gold Hotel Buda”

The hotel location was very good, easy 3 min bus ride into town. The bus service is very regular (every 5 min). Staff were very good, they gave the right information and went out of their way to help. The breakfast and the room were very good. Especially the apartment was more than adequate for 2 adults and 2 kids.

The staff were extremely gracious, warm, welcoming and most helpful with every detail and need from the very beginning until the morning we left. Our room was cleaned well every day, and the buffet breakfasts were a delicious bonus with fresh pastries, eggs, bread and other treats.

“Perfect for business”

Great value for money, I have used this hotel twice for business trips. It is always clean, the rooms are a good size and the reception staff friendly and helpful. It is near to a main road but is double-glazed so you can't hear the traffic with the windows shut, although might be different in the summer. Perfect if you are going to the exhibition centre as it's a short walk away.

“A good place to stay”

We stayed in the family-friendly apartments,located within the grounds.The apartment ,although equipped in a basic fashion, was spotlessly clean with a nice bathroom and a really pleasant balcony view.The reception staff were particularly helpful and friendly, they spoke several languages.The tasty buffet breakfast deserves a special mention.I would certainly recommend this hotel,it's very well located .If you use the number 8 or 21 buses, which are very regular, even in the evening, you could be in the commercial centre of town in a few minutes.

“Wonderful Small Friendly Hotel Close to Downtown Budapest”

We stayed recently at the Gold Hotel in Buda to attend a wedding of the daughter of some old friends from Hungary. This hotel is a gem---very friendly and helpful staff,clean and well run, internet access and WiFi available. We'd stay there again!!

“wonderful vacation”

I would highly recommend this hotel. It was extremely clean, and the staff were very helpful with your every need and question. The bus service into town was very prompt and you could get the bus about a block away. The food was the best ever and reasonable. We were 4 seniors and would go back again.

“Friendly staff, great service”

Gold Hotel Buda is small and intimate. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the service is great. The hotel does not have a lot in the way of amenities but it makes up for that with the family atmosphere. It is close to the centre of Budapest and a great base for exploring the city.
