Fantastisk.Posted Dec 5, 2013 on Hotels
Alt er perfekt med denne leilighet. Beligenhet, standard osv. Og ikke minst eieren Thommas, svært sympatisk og hjelpsom på alle måter. Bodde her ei uke i nov / des 2013. Transport sto klar ved ankomst Budapest, og samme sjåfør henta til avtalt tidspunkt ved avreise. Abefales på det sterkeste.

Great place for a family or friends in the centre.Posted Aug 30, 2012
Great place, great location, nice and clean. We didn't get to the flat till 11.30pm and the owner was there waiting for us outside where the taxi dropped us off to take us to the flat and show us around which we thought was a nice touch. Although in a central location doesn't feel like it when in the flat as it very quite. Great for a family with young children or a group of friends.

Excellent apartment in a central locationPosted Feb 19, 2012 on Hotels
Note that "Golden Stars" refers to several different apartments. I stayed at the Dream apartment, the larger and more luxurious of them I think. The location is perfect. At the southern tip of Vaci Utca, a few dozen meters from the Central Market Hall, I practically walked everywhere. Pubic transportation is also easily accessible, with two tram lines running by the house and a metro stop just a 5 minute walk away. A trip to the airport took 25 minutes (outside of rush hours). It's a two-bedroom apartment with very high ceilings, in an older house. The master bedroom is large, spacious and well equipped. The living room is similarly spacious, and very beautifully appointed. The second bedroom is small (I never used used it, but if two couples were to use the place it would be inconvenient. For a child, or even two young ones, it should work). There's now real view, all windows face either an inner courtyard or the next house. There's a narrow but fully equipped kitchen, with a 4-seat dining table, and a narrow but very pretty bathroom with everything you can expect, including a washing machine. Both feel a little crowded, but I got used to it immediately. Everything is impeccably clean, and everything works, perfectly. The place feels very cozy, like being invited to some a friend's house and then being left the house for yourself. It really felt good to come back to the apartment every day. I used the kitchen for breakfasts and was very happy with it -- shopping for produce at the nearby market and then eating at home. As others said, Tomas is wonderful. He really understands the need of a traveler, and he does everything he can to help. The (free!) airport transfer and the mobile phone with a local SIM card are only two examples. I would certainly stay here again on a future visit.

There are lots of reviews for this apartment . All are excellent and we were not disappointed. Tomas e-mailed before we left UK to ask if we would like him to arrange a taxi to collect us from the airport, as first time visitors we found this very helpful and also took up the offer of the return journey. On arrival Tomas greeted us and orientated us with regard to the apartment and Budapest. The apartment is large, airy and welcoming. The building is 120yrs old and has a rather scary looking but reliable lift to the apartment on the 4th floor. As a wuss when it comes to down stuff I found walking around the balcony to the apartment a bit daunting; the building is built around a quad. The location is excellent and we found everything in easy walking distance including all forms of transport. Great Market for fresh food, snacks and Tokjai wine. We loved Budapest and were pleasantly suprised to find that English was widely spoken.Traveller cheques can be exchanged at the OTP Bank a short walk away on Kalvin Ter, better rate there than pre-booked monies at the airport. Vaci is a typical tourist street and getting down the side streets is far more interesting and cheaper for food and drink. Szentendre boat trip is ok but spending 5hrs there a bit too long; better to return by bus. So much to see and do in Budapest!
