A top notch hotel

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: As mentioned, the staff is exceptional and really helped in booking taxis, dinner reservations, etc. The breakfast buffet was also exceptional!
Cons: The only minor critique is the lack of a real gym. There was only 1 treadmill, stationary bike and a few free weights.
Hotel Zichy was a wonderful choice because of its friendly and professional staff, clean, modern hotel rooms, fabulous breakfast buffet and close proximity to city center. The staff was bar none one of the best that I've ever dealt with and would rank in my top 5. Overall I had an excellent visit.

I will definitely return!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Clean, classy, and excellent, friendly service. My only regret is only being in Budapest for one night.

Five Star Hotel with 3 Star costs

Posted Oct 11, 2014
Pros: The property looks like it was just renovated. It has old world charm with all the modern amenities. Very well trained and personable staff.
Cons: Nothing it is perfect
Location: A bunch. Being the capital of Hungry there are great walking tours, shopping, nightlife and so much more.
Everything about this property is Class A. Not only did they schedule a pickup by cab at the airport but they also took care of our Hop on Hop off booking, a couple of dinners and a great bar. It is right in the central downtown area and is near most of the best of Budapest. They gave us plenty of great ideas like the free walking tours and were extremely helpful.

Another wonderful stay at Palazzo Zichy.

This was our second visit to this hotel and we wouldn't considering staying anywhere else when visiting Budapest. From the moment you arrive, entering the lobby, taking in the amazing chandeliers and the modern decor which greets you, not forgetting the attentive friendly staff who greet you with a smile, just top class! The bed was a little firm for my taste but apart from that our 5th floor room overlooking the quaint square in front of the hotel was ideally placed to ensure a peaceful nights sleep with all mod cons. The walk in shower was amazing! All in all a fabulous hotel in an amazing location.

Very nice modern hotel. I sometimes prefer the older ones for character. But this is a great hotel.

Excellent hotel

Pros: Quality of room and staff
Cons: There is no restaurant so you have to go out to eat in the evening
Location: Located in a quioet are area but close to trams and short walk to metro (10 mins). There are several bars and restaurants nearby.
Room and staff excellent. Breakfast was of high standard. All staff were multilingual and very helpful. They also provided free tea and coffee during the day time, which was much appreciated!

Great hotel in a university area

Pros: Front desk staff, breakfast, coffee, cleanliness, quiet, sauna/gym, proximity to Jewish Quarter
Cons: Can't think of any shortcomings!
Location: Walking tours from Vorosmarty Square (General, Jewish Quarter and Communism Tours) We were also a short walk to the Holocaust Museum
We stayed here in the last week of September. We were about a 15-20 minute walk to Vaci Street and Vorosmarty Square. Even closer the happening Jewish Quarter. We like to walk so this was perfect. The hotel was exquisite from the top down. The staff was very helpful - recommending restaurants, changing our room due to noisy neighbours and helping us print boarding passes. We loved the breakfast. Note to all: make good use of the cappucino machine in the lobby bar throughout the day. Because it was unusually cool during our stay, we used the sauna to warm ourselves at night (open till 10:00 pm and even then, no one came to kick us out)

Modern boutique type hotel

Budapest is a big, spread out city. The Hotel Pallazzo Zichy, while not in the old town, big chain hotel tourist center is within easy walking distance of the Grand Market, the National Museum and public transit. A short, pedestrian street lined with restaurants and pubs is just outside the front door. The Hotel is very modern, European chic in an old completely renovated building at the corner of two small streets and overlooks a small square. Our room was large, comfortable, quiet and clean with every modern convenience and amenity. There are plenty of plugs (all 220v) for charging multiple electronic gadgets and the free wi-fi was reliable. The included buffet breakfast is absolutely wonderful. Service is courteous and efficient. If you need to book a taxi to or from the Hotel they will make all the arrangements at local prices without surcharge and you can include the cost in your bill to pay by credit card. We truly enjoyed our stay here and hope to return.

Excellent hotel

Pros: The room, everything so clean and stylish, great selection of breakfast foods and drinks and more than helpful smiling staff.
Location: Nice quiet location within walking distance of centre. The hop on hop off bus is great for seeing the city. The thermal spa great for relaxing.
Stayed 7 nights in a room facing the inner courtyard which was very quiet. This is a very stylish hotel and more than exceeded our expectation. Lots of local places to eat nearby. A taxi was arranged by the hotel for arrival and departure. They also arranged tickets for the Spa, Parliament etc.,

Lovely hotel

Great hotel, staff are exceptionally helpful, breakfasts plentiful and strong wifi connection in rooms. Quiet location. Only problem was that even though the room was quiet at most times for some reason we could hear the person in the next room snoring for a while during the night! Don't let that put you off because the advantages of this hotel for out-way that one problem.
