“Fabulous hotel, incredible view, we will be back”

First impressions are so important and Gabby was the right person on reception in this hotel. She is extremely helpful, friendly and full of information. We could not believe it when we walked into our room on the 7th floor. Picture windows, just about floor to ceiling, looking out over the Danube to the beautiful Parliament Building and the Chain Bridge. There are 2 chairs and a coffee table placed so you can just sit and admire the view. We left our curtains open on our first and last nights so we could admire the view. The hotel is boutique - only 27 rooms and all with this incredible view. We were next to the lift and never heard it in the 6 nights we were there. Originally we had only booked in for 4 nights but the hotel and view changed our minds and we increased it to 6. Gabby followed this up for us and we were able to keep the same room. Breakfast was very good, cold food was laid out and you ordered hot food from a menu board. I have to say that if the lady who waited on us in the breakfast room for the first 4 days had not been there then we would not have rated the service as high as we did as the man on our last 2 mornings was not up to standard We were made very welcome here and hope we can make it back.

Area recommendations
We were happy to be on the Buda side as we are not much into the night scene and most of what we wanted to see was on this side of the city - the castle and it's town, the cave church, the Citadel as well as lots of restaurants, churches and a metro station. The walk across Chain Bridge from the hotel was about 10 minutes and was always a delight to walk. As we like walking we were able to visit everything we wanted to see, including the market at one end of Pest and the big Mall at the other.
Getting there
We arrived at Keleti Railway Station, found the Red Metro station just outside the train station and rode the metro 5 stops to the station near the hotel. The walk to the hotel, pulling our bags, was around 10 minutes along the Danube, very easy and pleasant.

“Great location, excellent view.”

Hotel Victoria is a great facility. The view out the windows at night can't be beat. The breakfast is also very good. I would recommend this place. However, make sure you ask for non-smoking if you are not a smoker.

“Great family run hotel”

Victoria is in a perfect location with all rooms facing directly onto the Danube. It is family run and it shows. Only twenty five rooms or so but all have big picture windows overlooking the river and the Pest side of the city and the parliament building. Rooms are a good size and well furnished, and the staff able and competent and very helpful. I great place to stay in Budapest. Excellent restaurant around the corner too, and a tram stop at the front door.

“Great Hotel, All Rooms Have Spectacular View”

We had a great visit. The triple room was large, and the huge windows had a spectacular view of the Danube, Parliament, and the Chain Bridge. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff was very helpful with reservations and advice.

“What a gem!”

What a gem! The rooms in this small hotel all look over the Danube with the Parliament buildings to the left and the Chain Bridge to the right. The view at night is spectacular. We thought the buffet breakfast was excellent, the room and bathroom were large, and did I mention the view? Quite unexpected for a reasonably priced European hotel. The staff was quite helpful with recommendations for a restaurant for dinner. All in all, we are thankful Expedia had this hotel on its list. We highly recommend it.

Area recommendations
Budapest is quite walkable. Pick up a map at the hotel and go for it. We also took a guided (live tour guide) bus tour when we first arrived to orient ourselves to the city that was recommended to us by our hotel. It included a tour of Parliament. We enjoyed a cruise on the river as the sun set in October - outstanding. We also liked the folklore show.

“Best Hotel in Budapest”

Our Hotel Victoria stay was a wonderful experience; we enjoyed it so much that we decided to stay an extra night. Rates are rather reasonable for a modern and quaint hotel right on the river Danube. The rooms are thoroughly modern and comfortable with big picture windows to gaze at some of Budapest's famous landmarks. The beds are very firm to the point of being uncomfortable if one likes to sleep in. A full breakfast is included with made to order omelets and a variety of other choices. The happy hour drink prices are reasonable but the selection is limited. Hotel staff was helpful and courteous with decent English speaking skills. Public transportation is very convenient and only a couple of blocks away. Overall this hotel offers great value and an ideal location to get anywhere in Budapest. I would highly recommend this hotel and stay here again.

Area recommendations
If you are looking for a slower pace, more old world charm, the Buda side of the Danube is the place to be. If you are looking for a higher energy vibe, nightlife action more modern structures, then the Pest side is for you.

“Great Hotel - Location, View, Service all exceeded expectations”

This was the best hotel of our two week vacation. Sorry that we were only able to stay for two nights. The view from the room was great. The dinner recommendations were excellent. Parking was not an issue. Many spaces right in front of the hotel for free. We did a lot of walking and the location made it very easy.

Area recommendations
I would suggest buying a ticket on the Hop On Hop Off bus. It takes you everywhere in Budapest and one of the stops ( I think #12 ) is 5 min from the hotel. The ticket also includes a 1 hr boat ride that stops in 4 places and one is 5 min from the hotel near the Metro station. If you want a great upscale dinner go to Kacsa Vendeglo ( Duck Restrauant ) Very special setting - quite romantic it is about a 6-7 min walk from the hotel
