Fantastic location..........

Posted May 9, 2015
Pros: Location, Clean, Size of Bedroom, Fantastic View. Helpful staff. Felt very secure here, always staff around inside & outside. Key needed for lift use.
Cons: The towel rail for the hand towels was crammed between the sink & the toilet. When hung, the towel touched the toilet bowl which is really unhygienic.
Location: Fantastic location. Lots nearby, especially Chain Bridge, Gresham Palace (Four Seasons Hotel), Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
Great location, easily able to walk to most of the cities sites of interest. Tram stop directly outside the door & short (5-10 min) walk to nearest Metro station. Bedroom fantastic size, clean, with amazing view. Can't imagine a better view from any other hotel in the city. Seamless check-in/check-out, staff were always very helpful and polite. The room was checked and attended twice daily. We opted for room only when booking, rather than B&B. There were plenty of places nearby (in any direction) for food. The bathroom was compact, fully functional & well stocked, however the hand towel rail really needs to be relocated because towels where hanging next to the toilet seat. Prices in Budapest generally seemed reasonable. You can buy tickets for tram or metro in advance but make sure you validate a ticket per journey, at the time of travel in the little machines on the platform (metro) or on the tram Nearly every site of tourist interest is within 30 min walk; No.2 Tram, Chain Bridge, Gresham Palace, Academy of Clinical Sciences, Shoes on the Danube Bank, Mahart Passnave (Budapest river cruise), St Stephens Basilica (& dome), Parliament, Post Office Savings Bank (great roof!), State Opera House, Buda Funicular, St Matyas Church, Fisherman's Bastion, Royal Palace/Buda Castle(Matthias Fountain). Transport may be needed to visit Gellert Hill/Liberty Monument, Gellert Baths, New York Palace Cafe (but we walked to these). We took Metro to Heroes Square & Széchenyi Thermal Baths.

Great hotel in the heart of Budapest

Posted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Cleaniness, location, breakfast
Cons: Internet access should be complimentary in a reputable hotel like this.
Location: Parliament, public transportation, inner city, museums
I was staying at the InterContinetal for a meeting with my parents. The facilities were nice and clean and had no problems at all during my 4 days stay. The location if great, 5 min walk from the Parliament and less than a minute to the main public transportations.

warm welcome in the heart of the city

Posted Apr 12, 2015
Pros: location, staff, spa
Cons: little bit bigger bathrooms
Location: Best location, close to the famous Vaci utca, shops, great restaurants, local transportation
Very pleasing, welcoming staff. Also if you travel with a pet, this place IS pet friendly with a view. (for kitties, if your room facing to the Danube, especially at night with the beautiful lights). Perfect location.

Amazing Budapest

Posted Mar 30, 2015
We ( me and my wife) stayed for 5 days in Intercontinental Hotel. He has a perfect localization. You can go by walking to everywhere, and you wake up every morning with the more beautiful view. The breakfast is outstanding, and the Spa is wonderful. I recommend a massage for couples. My wife loved the facial treatment also.

Perfect view over the River

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Location: Very central, within easy walking of all the main sights, and also of the piers that the boat trips leave from.
Took the river view room option, and this is a must. The view of the Palace and Chain bridge is spectacular, especially at night when they are lit up. The room was very comfortable, only reservation is that the air conditioning was not as cool as we would have liked. All the staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. We chose not to eat at the hotel, as we felt that we would get a more local menu from elsewhere in the city. The hotel is very central and would particularly recommend the Free Walking Tour that starts from the nearby Vorosmarty Ter (square) to give a good early overview of the city.

Great location, fantastic views!

Posted Mar 15, 2015
Pros: The location as well as the views. The comfort level is very high as well.
Cons: The room size is relatively small for a deluxe room.
Location: You can walk from the hotel to all major attractions easily.
I have stayed at the Intercontinental before and it never disappoints me. The staff are courteous and the quality of service you receive is excellent. This time I was able to bring my brother with me and he had a fantastic stay!
