The location was great, which was most important for me. From desk was helpful. Rooms are a bit dated, and my toilet would often run (drip, drip, drip). I was there off season, and price was reasonable. I would stay there again if back in Budapest.

This was the worst hotel I have stayed at in the past year (I've stayed in at least 20 hotels for about 60 nights in that time frame). It took 25 minutes to check in. The front desk staff were unfriendly. The room had the wrong bed configuration. The room was extremely hot and, even though it is advertised as having AC, it only has AC in the summer. The window barely opened. The carpets in the hall and in the room had stains all over. I cannot understand how this hotel has such high ratings. As a point of reference, on this trip I stayed in a total of 4 hotels and I gave the other 3 positive reviews.

Dear Richard, First of all, thank you for your recent stay at K+K Hotel Opera and taking your time to write us your review, which is really helpful to improve our services.We are sad to read, that our hotel did not meet your expectations. Unfortunately, check-in may take longer time due to some obligatory procedures which are set by the law and cannot be overwritten by the hotel. This is for example scanning the documents and completing the form. Without that procedure, hotel is unable to check-in any guests as it is supervised by authorities (with automated systems). You requested a twin room, and your room were equipped with two separated beds, as requested. We are surprised about your negative comment in regards to the unfriendly staff, as we got many-many positive reviews highlighting their friendliness and professionalism. We would be appreciated, if you could share more exactly with us your opinion. Exactly, AC is available only during Summer season and usually hotels are working with same system. Windows may be open partially for security purposes, however our Front Desk Team is happy to assist you, if complete opening is required (after filling in the required form). Unfortunately, we did not receive such request on the spot during your stay. Unfortunately our experience wasn’t great. We were given 2 twin rooms although booking 2 double rooms. The staff were rude and unhelpful and when we continued to ask them to ammend this.

Great location! The hotel is near major points in the city, but in a quieter zone. You have the bus and metro station just a block away. The service is great too! Sebastian was amazing, with great recommendations and really helpful as well

It is adjacent to the Opera House and I had come to town from Vienna to see the ballet. Everything I needed was walkable from the hotel. The breakfast that was included was plentiful and fresh. I'd stay here again easily.

Reasonably priced-great location
We stayed on a Rick Steve’s tour plus one extra day on our own. We were to receive an upgraded room, however were not told till the end of the day when qot back to our room. It would have been nice to receive a txt or phone call to advise us earlier in the day or at least be compensated with 2 glasses of wine. Also our AC never worked in room 526 and it was needed. The front desk staff were always friendly and helpful, as were the bar staff. The breakfast was good as well. The location next to the subway was very convenient.

Location, location, location. That’s all this property has going for it. The location was fantastic as it was right by Andrassy Avenue, minutes walk to St. Stephen’s Basilica, the Opera House and tons of restaurants/cafes. We never needed the metro as we walked everywhere the hotel was so centrally located. However, the rooms were very sparse and felt like a college dormitory. The rooms are outdated and bathrooms needed remodeling. The water would not drain when taking a shower. If you turned the water on, the hand held shower thing would come off and water would go everywhere so you had to hold it the whole time. The phone in the room didn’t work when trying to call the front desk. The list goes on and on. The beds were comfortable though but not the pillows. The breakfast at the hotel left much to be desired as well. The coffee from the machine dispenser was good though. The staff were polite. Sebastian at the front desk was super friendly and warm. He was just lovely!! Again, I absolutely loved the location of this hotel, but that’s about it. I personally wouldn’t stay here again, but it is clean and safe and wonderfully located.

Trendy hotel in a wonderful neighborhood. Some of the features in the rooms are a little strange, such as no place to hang wet towels; the bathroom door shuts itself; but housekeeper staff is very nice and accommodating. Breakfast is great!

The hotel was pretty decent for the price. We stayed 4 nights, and the first morning we woke up to loud drilling noises like someone was doing some renovations next door or very near by. That was not great, but we asked to be moved and they obliged (though it took a while and it seemed like the staff member maybe thought I was crazy for not wanting to be woken up with the walls shaking each morning). The rest of the mornings were quiet. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very close to the Opera metro stop.

The hotel was very good. My second stay at the K&K Opera. Metro access is great and the stores/restaurants in the area were excellent. My only issue was the complimentary PC access. I could not get the printer to print off my board pass. The front desk had no idea how to fix it. (But I totally understand it was Christmas Eve.)

Not so good, first the registration, when I was approached to the desk, the lady in charged sent me to sear, and help another guest that came after us. Never called me, even I felt like discriminated. And then next day my husband had to go to reception and asked for toilet paper, they did not have an extra one like in different hotels. They did not clean the room that day, next day they went to clean and maybe spent 5 minutes cleaning, not so good. And then last day I asked to scheduled a taxi to take us in the morning to the airport, and I asked if the driver accepted credit card 2 or 3 times and they told for sure that they did, so we did not prepared cash. The driver once we got in the airport he said not, I do not want credit card. It was very stressful to get the money, So overall we were not happy with the service of this hotel.

Everything was excellent. Only thing was that the room was fairly warm and there was a sign saying do not turn the thermostat below 25.
