“Very clean, well located”

Staff was very friendly and helpful, and fluent in English. Set up shuttle for me to the airport which arrived on time, and they called me from the front desk to tell me it had arrived.

The Mercure Museum Hotel Budapest is on the junction of two quiet streets close to a main road and five minutes walk to a tube station. The hotel is modern internally and staffed by friendly and helpful people. The rooms we had were on the 8th floor and had glorious views towards the Buda hills. It's location made everywhere accessible on foot without needing to purchase a Budapest card for trams,buses and tubes. The reception staff were very helpful in recommending restaurants, routes to sights and English is spoken by virtually everyone. The Spa in the basement is small but adequate though the massage room is too close to the jacuzzi area for peace and tranquillity especially if there are children around. Breakfast is served at weekends from 7-10.30 and consisted of a large buffet serving cold meats ,scrambled eggs and bacon, hot & cold drinks and pastries. I will be recommending this hotel to any of my friends wishing to travel to Budapest as it ranks as one of the better hotels I have stayed in in Europe.

The hotel was just off the main down town area. Easily accessable by bus or train or on foot. Staff were all very helpful and spoke good English. Well worth the money we spent.

“Not quite four stars”

Location is very good (although noisy in the morning) and the front desk is very helpful - the service however is not what I'd have expected from a 4-star hotel. (towels, soap, shampoo spottily replaced, breakfast somewhat limited) Would have judged excellent overall for a 3-star, with appropriate drop in price.

“Good Central Hotel”

This hotel is rated as a 4 star but with the fairly basic facilities I would say it is more realistically a 3 star. We got a very good deal in staying at the hotel when we booked through here however you would not want to just turn up at the hotel as it is a little pricey for what it is. The breakfast is extra and is quite expensive. All the extras at the hotel are very expensive with the on demand tv, internet and minibar being extortionate prices however with all the supermarkers and internet cafes minutes from the hotel there is really no need to use them. As a place to be able to walk around and visit the sites within the city it is in a good location, just bare in mind that it is not really a 4 star but is still clean and tidy and if all you want is somewhere to crash in bed and shower in the morning it is ideal.

“5 nights at the mercure museum”

This was a great hotel. It was on a very quiet street a block away from the busy budapest streets.Close to everything on the pest side.We even walked back from the buda side and it was not that far.The service at front desk was great they got taxis for us, booked a great tour for us of surronding cities and the danube with literally no notice as our plans had changed.They made reservations for us when we were out sight during the day, for the faust wine cellar that is hard to get into.Took care of laundry for us and had excellent reccommendations for eating based on what you were looking for. The breakfast was adequate.Never tryed the steam bath although others in hotel said it was nice.The lounge was pricey but nice for a night cap. the room has bathroom amenities.But first day there was no towels and when they did bring towels daily they were very thread bare and small. Internet connection was fast and relaible.Room was no smaller then other rooms we had stayed in and it was very very quiet.

“Comfortable unshowy hotel”

Close to some good restaurants and within walking distance of many of the sights, this hotel is comfortable and convenient. Staff were helpful and friendly, room was small but had all that was needed and a good beakfast was available.
