“Great experience!”
We really enjoyed our stay at the Novotel Danube. We spent a week there visiting an uncle that lived on the Pest side of the city. It is centrally located with only a short walk to transportation. There are a few things for children (X Box, toys). Restaurant and room bar were very pricey. There is grocery store and many little convenience food stores within a 10 minute walk. It is important to go out and explore. The staff all spoke englisha and were very helpful with direction. Would of liked an english speaking tv station other than BBC. The room was small but very comfortable for ourselves and 2 children. Free WiFi was a great benefit as we brought our laptop and IPad. There is a MAC computer in the lobby for your use.
“Very good hotel, with no free wifi.”
I liked the location, close enough to a metro station with a great view of the Parliament. Room was spacious and comfortable, except, there is no access to wi-fi... I do think that these days, it shouldn't be an extra for a hotel like a Novotel. We manage reservations, check-in, weather, etc. from our phones and it is quite inconvenient not having (free) access.
“Great Stay”
We ended up with an extra 4 day stay in Budapest related to volvanic ash and needed to change locations. We arrived well before the check in time and they greeted us at the door, immediately prepared the room.........it was a great stay.
“A very nice hotel”
The good: Rooms were very good for the price we've paid. Amazing views of the river and the Parliament, even from many of "not river view rooms". Very good service. Polite stuff. Clean and "fresh" hotel. The bad: Breakfast not included in price and the charge was very high for a 4* Hotel. Same applies for all services in Hotel, such as the restaurant, parking etc. The ugly: This Hotel is not near city center, so if you are not a "walking type" forget it. It is good if you have a car, or other means of transportation. The surrounding area should be nice in summer and spring (I guess because of the river bank), but during winter is not. It is an empty area and without anything intresting nearby.
“Very nice hotel on the Budda side”
I am in the travel industry and researched several hotels in Budapest while I was stuck there for an few extra days and I have to say that the NOVOTEL exceeded my expectations Rooms were very nice and clean and accomodating. I strongly suggest the executive rate as you get free internet and movies as much as you want. I will go back for sure.
“not impressed”
- small rooms - cheap materials - credit cards payment problems - high prices for each additional service - no covered /protected parking place - poor restaurant service
