“No frills but good value”
I have stayed there before and both times were just fine. I would recommend the hotel given its price and good location. It's clean and the staff is reasonably helpful and friendly. Don't expect any extra comforts and the rooms are a bit small, but a good value for the price.
“Good value though could use some freshening up”
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would stay there again. The price is reasonably inexpensive for the great location. However, the rooms are functionally clean but things like new carpets would go a long way. The hotel staff is very friendly and try to be helpful. I would also skip the breakfast as it's not worth the 6 extra Euros.
“Not good”
I only booked this hotel for its proximity to the train station since I had an early flight and planned to catch the 3am train to the airport. This hotel wasn't that good. The room condition was mediocre at best with a lot of stains on the carpet. Worse though was the fact that the room was very noisy as there is a ton of traffic and street cars right outside the hotel going by at all hours. It is also not in the greatest of neighborhoods with a casino across the street. I wouldn't recommend this place and I really wish that I had just stayed at the first hotel I was in had I known at the time that trams run 24 hours a day and are super easy to use in the city.
“simple”
I've traveled the world since my retirement 10 years ago. This hotel is one of my favorite stays. Not many extras. It is clean and old. Downtown but quiet at night. There is no lift. You will walk at least 2 floors up. Ask for a room with lan access and you will have good internet service (free). Small shower, small tv. Breakfast consists of scrambled eggs, several breads and deli meats and cheeses, also the usual morning cold and hot drinks and more. Restraunts and sidewalk cafes are scattered thruout the neighborhood. The multilingual staff makes this place stand out. Trust me they are there to help you with any needs you may have
“Will stay there again”
The location of hotel was perfect for us. Not in a tourist area, but felt more like a neighborhood. Loved closeness to the trams and metro system. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was what one expects in Europe. Only complaint would be size of the shower. Very small, but always hot water and great water pressure! Oh, and about the only noise we heard was from the street. Very quiet!
“Very nice hotel”
located in the center, very clean, staff is extremly frendly, great breakfast. for the price, it cannot get any better
“Definitely a YES!”
Have booked the stay for the Hungaroring Grand Prix (a couple of days) and everything was as promised: central location, friendly hotel staff, close to all major city attractions. The only thing missing is the elevator, considering the hotel has only 4floors (or 3) which was not that bad after having all that gulash, and kurtos collacs and beers. Definitely recommend it, room service was impecable, everything was neat and clean and the room very cozy. The staff is a great addition and their English is very good. Breakfast is pretty basic, nothing fancy: cereal, eggs, coffee. etc. Perfect for a quick city break, but if you`re into something posh you might want to look for accommodation somewhere else.
“Budapest_Central Location”
Ring hotel has the best location and great staff. The hotel itself has a lived in look, however location and efficent staff more than offset this slight downside.
“Good deal, great location”
I loved this hotel! It was good for the money and it was in a central location, close to everything. The staff was VERY helpful and friendly and the breakfast served is very good! Stay here, it's a good deal
“Great location”
The hotel is within one block of a major train station and is on the local transit lines including the metro. It is also a block away from one of Budapest's largest malls. An internet cafe is only a block away. It was very convenient. My only regret is that the hotel does not have an elevator. Ask for a room on the first floor. The staff is very helpful and speak English quite well.
