Excellent locationPosted Aug 23, 2014
Location: You are in the central location of Budapest.
Excellent Location, Friendly and helpful staff. Room is a good size, the bed and pillows are so amazing you don't want to leave. Budapest is a magnificent city and Sofitel is in our opinion the best place to stay while you explore.

DissapointedPosted Aug 16, 2014
Booked 2 Exec Rooms 6 months in advance with good views of River and Bridge, got one on 7th floor part view of bridge, 2nd room eight floor, good view of bridge but direct view out into Inter Continental hotel building, could not leave drapes open as their guest looked straight into ours. Not value for money at all, very poor, waste of money paying for exec upgrade.

Super location.Posted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: We were completely satisfied with all amenities.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
Location: Perfect location for the tourist. Traffic is very busy because it merges on to the Chain Bridge.
You can get to any of the top ten Budapest sites from this location. Transportation is easy from here. The bell men were never too busy to help with directions or planning. The food was wonderful. We especially loved the Paris restaurant.

Central BudapestPosted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: Free internet access, very clean, good air con, helpful staff, excellent location.
Cons: Optional breakfast is really very expensive, even compared to breakfasts in the nearby city centre.
Location: Excellent central location, very close to Chain Bridge, funicular railway and Buda Castle Palace. Tram and bus stops even closer than Metro station.
Very central and above average hotel, with free high-speed internet access, good air con, optional breakfast (expensive) and very helpful staff. Close to Vorosmarty Ter metro station, but less than a 10 minute walk from Deak Ferenc Ter station which is on the metro line heading towards the airport and has the benefit of an escalator to ground level for those carrying wheeled cases. Be aware of the city tax on all hotel bookings charged at departure (currently around £15 for a week). Weekly public transport pass offers good value and tram service is arguably more impressive than the four Metro lines. Meals in city centre are not cheap, with truly huge price reductions in the suburbs. An interesting city modernising very fast.

Danube dazzler!Posted Aug 3, 2014
Cons: Nothing even worth mentioning
Location: Magnificent views over the Danube and close to all the amenities you need for a visit to this wonderful city.
It's not often that you write a review and can only make wholly positive statements. This hotel, its location, facilities, and, most especially, it's staff are all superb and absolutely 5 star. We did not want to leave and will most certainly be returning to this truly amazing city and hotel. Well done Sofitel - you remain unsurpassed in our eyes.

Pros: Clean, quiet, and great location.
Cons: Nothing. Perfect stay.
Location: Market, shopping, drinking, eating. 2 day pass for hop on hop off bus took us many places, including an evening ride, and evening river boat ride.
Perfect location. Budapest was more than we expected. Stayed a few days before our River Cruise up the Danube! Great food at Evidens. Would go again just to experience more of Budapest. Hotel was great location to many things. Hop on Hop off bus convenient and great transportation around the city, day and night.
