Trip to Leadville

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: The hotel was quiet and the room comfortable.
Cons: Their breakfast needs some improvement.
Location: Buena Vista has a variety of outdoor activities including river rafting. There are several nice restaurants. The mountain scenery is wonderful.
We visited Leadville for Boom Days and stayed in Buena Vista for two nights. Buena Vista is a great place to visit.

Good value.

Needed a room for 2 nights near Mushroom Gulch when my camper decided not to make the trip. Of all of the choices in Buena Vista, Best Western had the best rankings so I stayed there. It was clean, friendly and fit the bill. I didn't use the pool but enjoyed the breakfast each morning before driving to the campgrounds to join my group. Loud kids in the morning was the only downer, but it seems to be a great family hotel :)

Our visit

Posted Jun 4, 2014
Pros: Local, in town, so you can walk to local shops and restaurants.
Cons: Outdoor seating area, grills?
Location: What shops and restaurants exists in the small town are generally w/in walking distance.
Obviously a renovated hotel, but for a place to sleep, not too bad.

Very clean hotel

Posted May 31, 2014
Cons: Breakfast - might be better if they gave a coupon to use in a restaurant that does breakfast better.
The rooms and bathrooms were very comfortable and clean. The continental breakfast in the morning you can skip - it was terrible.

Weekend getaway

Posted Apr 9, 2014
Pros: Staff was very friendly and professional.
Cons: The hotel general manager needs to do a walk through make note of a few things that need minor repair. Nothing that would keep us from returning.
Location: Location was perfect for what we had planned that weekend....on the north end of town, near the river.
It was a cold, snowy, windy day when we arrived. The hotel staff was welcoming, pleasant, and very professional (Holly I think her name tag said). The hotel halls smelled like they just cleaned the carpet, a little strong, but acceptable. Better than smelling like “something” else. Some of the wood work in the hall could have been repaired. The room was clean. The bathroom was clean…but, it could have use a little grout work in the shower and the edges of the shower needed paint. Not that it was bad, just showing its age. The pool and hot tub was very nice and very quite, probably due to being off season. Breakfast is what you would expect. It wasn’t “WOW!!”, but satisfying. Waffles, sausage, cheese omelets, cereal, canned fruit (yuck!), bagels, donut holes (yum!), yogurt…Not bad, it did the trick. Overall, very nice for a weekend getaway in Buena Vista. We have no problems coming back again!

nice place

Pros: Pool and hot tub very nice. A very large pool
Staff was helpful. We were on business and had to add a night to our stay. At first they thought we would have to change room types. But after a little research they figured a way in our original room.

Nice Hotel

Posted Oct 7, 2013
Pros: The lady that keeps the breakfast area stocked is a delight to talk with and performs her job well.
Cons: The only issue I have with this hotel is the parking. Rarely am I able to park near my room. There is no parking on the back side of this hotel.
I have stayed at this hotel a couple different times. The staff is pleasant and helpful, the rooms have been comfortable.
