Vintage motel

Posted Jul 7, 2015
Pros: Easy to find. One mile from city park and the river.
Cons: We could feel the floor shake evey time the people next door to us walked across to their door and I'm sure they felt us walking too! ground floor!
Location: They have a great 4th of July celebration.
Clean and adequate but needs interior updating. Tile was coming off shower. Sink faucet dripped all night.

Its an unfortunate fact of life that one has to MAKE money to SPEND money. We update as we can afford it. I wish you had talked to us about the faucet dripping. We try our best to fix things immediately.

Nice little inexpensive place to stay

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: Staff/Price/Hottub
Cons: repaint maybe?
Location: Victoria bar -awesome! Monarch Mountain -love it! Ghost towns! lots of exploring!
We've stay here a few times. We think the world of Lee and Pamela (owners). Our band stayed here and they took pretty darn good care of us! We had a few hothub issues but I'm sure they're either fixed or will be. They rock! I would recommend this place over and over again!

old but okay.

The hotel served it's purpose. Clean bed and quiet. the motel was dated, kind of like going to a motel in the 1960S Except for the $ 94.00 price tag. I would stay again.

As soon as we win the lottery, we will be able to update this motel. One has to make money to spend money, right?

Older Motel/Acceptable Accommodations

Posted Jan 7, 2015 on Hotels
One of a number of older motels in Salida that offers basic accommodations for a ski weekend. Acceptable for its purpose.

As soon as we win the lottery, we will be making MAJOR UPGRADES. One has to have alot of money for renovations. In the meantime, we do the best we can with what we have.

Same owners for 13 years. We have had hundreds of people stay here over the years. Most don't leave reviews. Thank you. It's what makes this business worth being in.

Older Mom and Pop type place

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: the room was clean
Cons: update the carpet, linens, TV, and bathroom
This motel was way over priced. decorated in the 80's, but it was clean. The hot tub was locked up for some reason.

We have to choose where to spend our money. New beds, towels and sheets are our priority. We keep the hot tub locked so people can't get into it in the middle of the night as people have. It's a liability issue. Call the office to have the hot tub unlocked.

We keep the hot tub locked so people who are not staying here don't get in it, in the middle of the night, which happened once. A phone call to the office and we are MORE THAN HAPPY to unlock it. I guess price is relative. What one considers expensive another might consider reasonable. Less than $100 in a mountain town??

Clean motel at a very reasonable price.

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Clean
Cons: Scratchy sheets.
Location: Easy access to town. Great breakfast place within walking distance.
We booked the least expensive option and I was prepared for it to disappoint. But, the motel was very clean and they had some nice touches that showed they understand their guests. The towels were much better than expected, and the sheets and blankets appeared very clean. The sheets were a bit scratchy, but I will take clean as a first priority, which they were.

Not sure what the guest meant by "sheets scratchy". Our sheets are 100% cotton and we purchase them from a hotel distributor. We wash the sheets in industrial detergent and fabric softener.
