Same owners for 13 years. We have had hundreds of people stay here over the years. Most don't leave reviews. Thank you. It's what makes this business worth being in.

Older Mom and Pop type place

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: the room was clean
Cons: update the carpet, linens, TV, and bathroom
This motel was way over priced. decorated in the 80's, but it was clean. The hot tub was locked up for some reason.

Clean motel at a very reasonable price.

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Clean
Cons: Scratchy sheets.
Location: Easy access to town. Great breakfast place within walking distance.
We booked the least expensive option and I was prepared for it to disappoint. But, the motel was very clean and they had some nice touches that showed they understand their guests. The towels were much better than expected, and the sheets and blankets appeared very clean. The sheets were a bit scratchy, but I will take clean as a first priority, which they were.

Not sure what the guest meant by "sheets scratchy". Our sheets are 100% cotton and we purchase them from a hotel distributor. We wash the sheets in industrial detergent and fabric softener.

Clean, Decent Hotel

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Location: Salida is beautiful!
Overall, this motel was acceptable. It was clean, and comfortable. It does, however, lack some basic amenities and professionalism that we have grown to expect from hotels in this day and age. No in-room coffee pot, and the office is closed from 10pm to 7am, which I am glad I called in advance as most hotels have front desks open 24 hours. The couple that own this establishment work very hard and do a good job, but I hope they are able to invest in more staff soon as we were not impressed by the lack of amenities, the random cleaning times, and also by the owners getting mad at us for having two vehicles in the parking lot. I will not stay here again, as for the high nightly rate I've grown to expect a bit more.

Again, price is relative. Out of 14 hotels in this tourist town, our motel has some of the lowest rates. We offer excellent coffee in the office every morning at 7am. Our motel rooms have limited plugs so we don't provide coffee pots in each room. We live at our motel so obviously we can't be awake 24 hours a day - or have someone sit in the office from 10pm to 7am as it connects to our living quarters. If the guest needed the room cleaned at a particular time, we would have been glad to accommodate them. Since we have a small property, each motel room has just one parking spot. If a guest has two vehicles, we ask they park one vehicle in front of a room not being rented so each guest can park in front of their room.

Didn't even stay

Posted May 21, 2014
When we arrived the owner informed me that she did not have a room for us, that Expedia had made a mistake, and btw the price we had agreed to was too low. We had booked a family suite for $69. She wanted to move us to two rooms for $120. She said that she had never received contact info so she could not call us in advance. I called Expedia and got a completely different story. The customer service rep said that my reservation was active, they had sent my contact and billing info to Circle R. I let the rep know we would NOT be staying there since she had given our reserved room to someone else. I had made the reservation weeks before, and had just driven in with my husband and four children. We found a very nice hotel in town that gave us two rooms at a reasonable price and stayed there instead. I did not use the room but Expedia will not let the review publish without it, so I am giving it average. I did observe the outside and staff, and feel these are accurate.

I don't even know what to say here. It's true, I tried to contact this woman in advance but didn't have any contact information from the "middle man" company I was working with. We don't even have "family suites" here. A room with two queen beds would not have accommodated six people comfortably. The maximum we allow in a room with two queen beds is four people - if she had put in the right amount of people, the web site would not have allowed her to make a reservation for six people in a room with two queen beds.

Great family hotel and change of pace

Posted Jul 11, 2012
Pros: Hot tub and vintage-ness. Very clean!
My family (two adults, two kids) loved staying at this great vintage "mo-tel". During the week's vacation traveling around Colorado, it was our favorite. The owners went out of their way to make us comfortable. The hot tub in the middle of the parking lot is just plain fun -- really!! If you want a change from the ordinary chain hotel, try this place, and support keeping these independent places in business!

Thank you so much... We do work hard here. Our motel isn't new or fancy and we are not "wealthy". We clean our own rooms and do our own maintenance. We are the back bone of America. Small business owners!

Disappointing.

Room smelled like unwashed bedsheets. Linens were dingy in appearance. The air conditioner was in the bathroom. Bathroom in need of updating.

There is no where else to put an air conditioner than in the bathroom. At least the rooms have air conditioners. And they all work. Yes, some of the bathrooms need updating, but updating is costly. We update as we can afford to update. Next time you come, try rooms 7, 8, 12 or 11. All have updated bathrooms. We use bone colored sheets. Not white. We have yummy brown towels I might just say.
