This is the worst hotel ever! The pictures are very deceiving. It's old and dirty all over the place. The front desk lady, Diana was rude and right away yelled at me that she doesn't speak English. I told her that there is no internet in the room and she just refused to change the room. The whole room was dirty and there were cracks all over the walls and floor. I would had asked for my money back, but no one was able to speak English as it was listed on Obitz. The breakfast was crazy. I had to stand in line just to get some bread. This was such a nightmare to stay at this place.

The price is very reasonable, and it is in a good part of town, near restaurants. The breakfast buffet is amazing. It was handy to coordinate with tours and in walking distance of a couple of attractions. But the building is old and could use a bit of TLC. Not for those who want anything like luxury. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and most could speak English.

Unhappy stay in dirty noisy hotel.
I booked for two nights but left after one, despite there not being the option of my money back. As a woman traveller on my own I felt cramped and unsafe in this dirty hotel. The doors to the balcony did not close properly and the street was also very noisy. A lovely neighbourhood with other hotels worth considering but I will never stay in this one again. Was an unpleasant and unhappy experience. In my haste to get away I also left behind by mistake my favourite white t-shirt!

No customer service at all, the rooms are terrible old , cables everywhere , no outlets to connect your phone unless you disconnect the table lamp , Wi-Fi no signal at all or really bad, I asked for 2 rooms , they were really far apart , elevator if you want to use the cart for your baggage, you don't fit and no bellboy service , on the hallways you see internet routers holding on the walls also holes on the selling . I forgot a phone charger and I went back the next day and nobody knows about it . At 1 am I have had to moved to another room after complaining for an hour because it was a terrible noise coming from the walls and I couldn't sleep. The next morning I moved to another Hotel and nobody helped me with my baggage again and the receptionist were just checking in new customers and they don't care about. Really bad service and amenities were really bad No for international travelers.

Ive stayed at this hotel twice and really the only downside is their terrible connection to wifi. The same rhing happenes the second time. The first time a staff member came up to the room and tried to adjust some things, unsuccessfully. Its not even a strong signal in the main lobby.

I was very disappointed with this hotel...photos are deceiving and rooms are soo old, outdated & rundown that wife cried in disappointment upon arrival!!! Floor was dirty, scratches & stain marks on the walls, furnitures unstable, lift takes 10 mins to arrive, dog hair all over carpet in hallways, house keepers makes bed but don’t change the sheets!!! Worst hotel I’ve booked in my years of traveling... quite frankly disappointed that they have it online..!!! Deceitful & a rip off

The property was unclean and very poor maintenance. You should not present this hotel as a 4 stars hote. The WiFi was disconnected on December 31th. The hot water did no worked during nights.

Old but good value for size.
Good Service. Really nice apartment size. 2 bedrooms with 2 baths. Was very convinient for family of 4. Good value. Sizewise, best suite I had. But. Big but. Everything is super old and decrepit. Bathrooms, tiles, sinks, closets, showers. Everything feels 20 years old and about to fall apart. I can see people not be able to look past that. But size/value made up for this. Breakfast was dismal too, but it was food ;)

A bad hotel can change your experience
This hotel should not be operating. It lacks the desire to improve its many inefficiencies and has terrible staff. During the initial check-in two young guys were prompting us for tips. This is not a serious operation and should be closed down by health authorities.

TV remote didn't work, Changed twice. Elevators take forever. Front desk always has a long line people waiting. It seems they are way understaffed.

Photos and description misleading.
Old, did not match advertised photos. One spoon, fork and knife. One coffee cup, glass and bowl. Had to wash everything with hot water first, was all dirty. Fridge old and did not work. Shower head rusted and had a heap of hair (from previous guests) clogging and causing tub to fill and leak on bathroom floor. Floor felt dirty. Room service replaced towels, but condition of new ones was old and sometimes stained. Breakfast okay. Location good.

Improving Hotel
I have been staying off and on at the Cristoforo Colombo over the years and it has improved from a 3 to a 4 overall rating during that time. The public spaces are still better than the suites and there are still issues about both (see below), but there have been improvements in the suites, especially on the higher floors. One of the improvements in the public spaces is the new gym at the top of the building, with new machines, but no one from the hotel in charge. In the suites (and I stayed in 3 different ones during a week) small improvements would make a big difference: eg the suites all had kitchenettes, but not even a glass in one suite and nothing to cook with in the others. Again, no one seemed in charge of making sure the rooms were fully equipped. Still, the location is great and so are the people at the front desk -- friendly, helpful and knowedgeable-- and together with the improvements they justify a 4 overall.

This hotel gives zero f***s
It was a last minute booking, so the arrival at 10pm was great. The guy working was cordial and genuine. We entered the room that was completely deceiving from the exterior and lobby area. It appeared clean but after further inspection we found hairs in the sheets, the bathroom shower curtain was 7 inches shorter than needed for a proper shower. The bathroom flooded with every shower. The breakfast was suitable and the wifi was great. The neighborhood is amazing. Loads of shopping and produce markets. The Giant mercado has a Starbucks... 🙌
