“Scala Hotel - Excellent for the Price”

Visited Buenos Aires for a quick two day getaway from a workshop in Santiago de Chile. Scala hotel is in the part of the city nearest to Aeroparque airport and would recommend that you fly into this airport if you intend to stay there. The hotel was well-kept, clean, the concierge was friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to assist. There were a few English speaking channels on TV so even if you wanted to just stay in the room you would still be entertained. The hotel was quiet and overall a good value on Expedia. Some challenges: There was no iron in the room. The bathtub was too high - would be difficult for older perons to get in and out. The closet were small, but elegant.

“Nice stay in good hotel. Questionable neighborhood”

Good hotel. Great lobby, wonderful rooms - just as you see them in the photos. Very clean and well done. Bathroom like the best 5 star hotels I've been in. Nicely done all around. Front desk did not let us check in early although I'm pretty sure the room was ready. They let us check out late and/or keep our bags with them through the day. That was very accommodating. Front desk service varied by person. Some too busy to help, some very willing to provide any details that they could. Overall very pleased with front desk assistance. They were nice to provide a room with a view/"vista" although it was noisy with BA traffic. That was nice of them to respond to that request. They wanted me to pay my phone bill with $38 pesos since it was $37.50 and I didn't have $0.50. I asked them to let me pay $37. They didn't like that so had me sit around for 30 minutes while they were able to get change of 50 centavos. That was kind of funny. Wi-Fi reception great and helpful. Didn't eat there as we went around the corner and purchased our own facturas at the panaderia and soda at the kiosks. Brush up on your Portuguese. There are many Brazilians in BA these days.

“Excellent service in new modern hotel”

It was our first time in Buenos Aires and we are English speakers with little Spanish language abilities. Most of the hotel staff spoke enough English to help us make any necessary arrangement for tours, cell phone rental, transfers to events. Breakfast was included and consistently good.

“Good location, pleasant hotel”

The hotel is located on the big main avenue in town. You can walk to downtown and the docks areas. Taxis were pretty cheap too. They are doing some renovations. I wish hotels would live up to their "environmental" concerns. I've never stayed at one that actually lets you re-use your towels when you hang them up to "be re-used."
