We stayed at Lugabe Apartments II in November 2011 for 9 days. Staying at an apart-hotel gave us an opportunity to prepare home made meals. The hotel is situated in the Centro district, several blocks away from the Congresso. The units are not two bedroom apartments as it is said in the description, but rather one bedroom apartments. The bedroom has two single beds in it, which is how we like it, but others might view this as a problem. Centrally located, walking distance from several milongas (for those who dance Argentine tango) and 2-4 kilometers by taxi to other famous downtown milongas. The units are air-conditioned, which is nice during hot months. Cheaper than a hotel. Nice balcony. Safe neighborhood: we walked the streets at 2 or 3 AM every night and felt safe. Cons: The receptionists don't speak any English so it is impossible to communicate if you don't speak Spanish. The towels and linens are changed once a week. The units are not insulated well, so you can hear other guests (we had 7 days of relative quiet, but by the end of our stay neighboring units were occupied and it got considerably noisier). Noisy elevator. The staff is nice but not always helpful. For instance, our safe was never fixed after we reported a problem with it.
