Hotel was old but in good condition. It has a bit of a funky, fun vibe. The location however is in a rather rundown area. We arrived about 9 at night and were a little taken aback by the neighborhood. We had a hard time finding any decent restaurants in the area and didn't want to walk around too much. This was our last night in Buenos Aires before flying home in the morning, so it worked well for what we needed. The breakfast was quite substantial and better than we were expecting.

Good location

Posted Apr 19, 2015
Pros: Location, helpful staff
Cons: Relaxing the restaurant dress code (if you want me to spend money in your restaurant)
Location: Various Buenos Aires attractions and restaurants
Great base to explore Buenos Aires. Very helpful staff. Didn't realise there was a dress code for the restaurant so I didn't have the right clothes with me - hence we ate elsewhere each evening.

Beautifully restored hotel

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Pros: The public areas were magnificent.
Cons: Not in the control of the hotel - but the surrounding area is not so attractive as the hotel.
Eva Peron stayed here - but, the hotel has recently been modernized, while keeping the beautiful ceilings and mouldings in the public areas. Some rooms have balconies. The windows/doors are very sound proof. With the balcony door open, it can be very noisy from the traffic below. It has a very good central location - I walked to Recoleta, the cemetary (don't miss it), and the Modera port area and back. But we were advise to be careful at night - and the sidewalks are in need of repair in this part of the city - lots of broken or missing tiles.

Handy location.

Pros: Staff were flexible and keen to help. Used the hotel as a base whilst exploring the country. They allowed us to store our lugagge until flew back.
Location: Central location close to Congress building.
Staff helpful and willing to resolve any issues fast. Secure location with nice decor. They advised us where to go for meals which was great.

Good hotel but not great location at night

Posted Apr 4, 2015
Pros: Good basics, nice staff.
Cons: Price of food and drink, free water.
Location: Does not feel safe at night (not an area frequented by locals), lots of rough sleepers near the Congress. Take taxis to other areas,
Good hotel and great value for b&b but a bottle of water in the bathroom is 116 pesos - buy one form across the road for about 10. Bar unblievably expensive for Buenos Aires which is why they have the loneliest barman in the world. Five of us had one round and then saw the price.

Could have been closer to the Obelisk

Pros: The Shower
Cons: The food
Location: Theatres were close by
Very grand place, the food was not that good and too expensive. The shower was the best of all.....the only hotel where you could get lots of water out of the shower.

Great hotel, convenient to all to see and do in B

Posted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: Great location, safe area, great staff, comfortable surroundings inside with good food in the lobby bar.
Cons: Any suggested improvement to this hotel would be minor and to be honest would be nit picking because the positives far outweigh anything negative.
Location: Location is great for anyone willing to walk around and explore.Anything worth seeing is within walking distance for most people and worth the effort.
I stayed here last year at the same time and very much liked this hotel so when I and my family decided to come this year we booked the Savoy for all of us. The staff are great, from the front desk to the staff who take care of keeping the rooms so clean. The front desk staff were very helpful and pleasant and spoke very good english and they were always accomadating with any issuewhether it was information on where to eat or what to see or how to get to wherever we needed to go. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, but especially to first timers to BA because it is great value, comfortable and in a safe area. It is a convenient location for walking around the main sites and from my experience staying here both times, the fact that we felt completely safe there at all times was a big factor in enabling us to enjoy our time in BA.

We had a wonderful time check in was fast and our room was ready, reception staff were excellent and answered all our questions we had, breakfast was ok. Just a couple of things not enough room to hang towels and maybe some extra toiletries would be good and free bottles of water. Door Men were not always there when you were coming an going. Our stay in Buenos Airies was great wonderful city
