“Vida M(alos)aires”
IMPORTANT NOTE: Though the Standard room description states that the bathroom is "en suite," this is NOT the case. If you book this room, you do get a private bathroom, but it is across a public hall.
The good news was that a room with a private (legitimately en suite) bathroom was available and after some stern dispute with the front desk employee, we were able to switch without extra charge.
The room was fine. This is NOT my first time traveling in Buenos Aires and, so, I believe I have appropriate expectations for Argentine accommodations. The room had air conditioning, which was a rare treat.
INTERNET: If you are on the top floor, you do not get wireless service in your room. There is free service in the building, but the signal is extremely weak and unreliable in the rooms.
"24 HOUR RECEPTION": The hotel does not give you an entry key and keeps its doors locked 24 hr/day. It claims that it has an employee available 24 hrs/day to answer the door for you. NOT THE CASE. We arrived home around 3AM each night and had to wait outside for a half hour before the half-asleep/drugged(?) employee answered the door. We repeatedly rang the bell, knocked on the glass, and even phoned, without answer. The employee did not apologize for the delay and claimed not hear the bell (mind you, we could hear the ringing of the buzzer and telephone from outside). THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A HOTEL ESTABLISHMENT.
