Fantastic! Cannot wait to plan another night here!Posted Feb 21, 2014
Hotel is absolutely beautiful; the decor is a perfect mix of modern and vintage. Bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, and the shower/bath combo was great. No complaints, other than the fact I'm a very light sleeper and I was awoken by a door being slammed shut. Fortunately, I didn't have to be up early so it wasn't really an issue. I expected more options with the complimentary breakfast, but overall it was a wonderful experience!

Fabulous hotel with tons of character!Posted Feb 10, 2014
We stayed here for a little kid free getaway. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room (we got upgraded to a suite), the character of the hotel as it was built in 1904 then restored. We walked around and admired the beautiful ball rooms (this would be a gorgeous place to get married!). All in all, a great experience.

Restored 1900's HotelPosted Feb 10, 2014
Pros: The quality of the restoration and the sumptious rooms.
Cons: Had one evening meal in the hotel, food was nice but only warm, when ordering steak you expect it hot.
The hotel has been lovingly restored in the public areas giving a glimpse back to the buildings original hayday. The suites have been very tastefully decorated and are very comfortable. This is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in.

Hotel with great character - great access!Posted Jan 6, 2014
Pros: Great character, and very accommodating. It was more than a place to just rest your eyes, there was a lot to explore and great good/drink options.
Cons: Confusion regarding continental breakfast.
Location: Pearl St. Grill & Brewery, First Niagara Place, Convention Centre, Parks and Interesting Architecture.

Probably wont be backPosted Dec 5, 2013
Pros: MMMMMMMMMMMM ..........the bed
Cons: Get some parking or subsidize the paying for it Give the people what they pay for the first time............ without having to ask for it!
Well starting with the fact I did not get the initial room that I requested and paid for did not help with my opinion of your hotel. I paid for a King size bed and the room that comes with that. When we realized it and brought it to the attention of the desk clerk she stated that because we booked it through Expedia that information does not appear in your system that way............I really don't believe that or accept that. That is a company you use to help YOU book rooms in your hotel. GET IT FIXED if that's how it works. Actually I kind of think that is somewhat intentional and you count on that most people want catch it and your able sell the lesser rooms at the higher rate. Continental Breakfast: showed up there around 9:00 am there were not any plates, OJ or anyone around to even ask for them. We were the only ones there so its not like they ran out............they didn't get put out to begin with according to the front desk clerk. The lighting was so poor in that area we thought at first we were in the wrong area or that part of the hotel that wasn't opened yet.. Parking.......... you got to be kidding, for a hotel this size there is none! No I am incorrect there is $20.00 a day valet parking or your at the mercy of finding a metered spot which was very limited. I never have seen a hotel were there wasn't some kind of parking that went with your hotel stay or were you were given a voucher, pass, or reimbursed for the parking if you were a guest at the hotel.

Leafs vs Sabres tripPosted Dec 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great building: old building with completely updated style, really interesting vibe and tactful interior decor. The room was excellent. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel bar was slightly pricey but the drinks reflected the price. Breakfast from the grill was excellent. Location was great for seeing the hockey game, choice to walk down, or take the metro rail. Parking down the street a short walk was reasonably priced.

Excellent Choice of HotelPosted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: The history was amazing to look at & photograph, nice spacious room (Jr. Suite), location for us was perfect (to First Niagara Center).
Cons: Did not have hot water at all for our morning shower!
Location: Great location to attend the Bison's games or hockey games at First Niagara Center
Easy & fast check-in, great ambiance, pleasant staff from the desk clerks to the valet parking staff.

Historic hotel with memorable touchesPosted Nov 30, 2013
Pros: Charming and unique. Quiet for the most part. Compares favorably with Hyatt and Marriott in terms of amenities.
Cons: Maintenance. The tub stopper did not work. Then the shower stopped working and would only drip. The staff gave us an upgrade on the same floor.
Location: Downtown Buffalo has not quite caught on yet. Historic buildings nearby but not much else. Count on needing a car or using taxis or bus.
It was Thanksgiving and a couple of days before, so the usual business crowd was absent. The hotel is quite charming with good pub food in a rather noisy bar, and also an upscale restaurant on premises. The rooms have an eccentric mix of deco and kitsch that is hard to describe. Upscale bath fixtures but nowhere to hang stuff up in the immense bath area with walk-in shower and long deep soaking tub. Excellent linens and towels. Our room was quiet for the most part except some drunken rowdiness on the street and in the hall on one of three nights. Continental breakfast is generous but veers toward high calorie options.
