“Gorgeous Arts and Crafts hotel at a competitive rate”
Was looking for a hotel in Buffalo and happened upon The Roycroft Inn - about 20 minutes outside Buffalo. My husband is a book collector and when I saw the name Roycroft I realized the inn was connected to the Roycroft artisans and book publishers from the early 1900s. Elbart Hubbard founded the Roycroft artisans community in East Aurora, the location of the Inn, which was built in 1905 and housed many of the artisans.
The rooms are like going back in time - all Arts and Crafts furniture, very comfortable and clean. Had a fantastic dinner on the "peristyle" a wraparound porch on the Inn, great breakfast too.
This is the perfect alternative to staying in a chain hotel and the room rates are very competitive. For the business traveler, there's wi fi, easy check in and check out, great service, not the usual hotel food - comfortable lobby areas, a museum, antique store and artisans shop right across the street, charming downtown with more restaurants - it's the perfect place to stay for a night or a week. Can't say enough!
