Lovel hotel great, easily accessed from main roadPosted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: Bar and parking facilities.
I usually use this hotel with my family when travelling through Spain. Staff are friendly and rooms comfortable. Great little bar serving tapas and fantastic restaurant. Very easy parking and always feels a safe place to stay, about 10 minute drive from Burgos historic centre but great location for getting on the motorway.

A quirky hotelPosted Aug 1, 2014
Pros: See above
Location: We were en route overnight only
Poor signage makes the access road to the hotel easy to miss even with satnav as it is just off a very busy motorway junction. A most extraordinary set of buildings, the access to the hotel being through a castellated tower also poorly signposted. Extremely interesting interior and our room was beautifully grand with a bathroom of exceptional period décor. The staff were very friendly and the bar and large casual dining area was extremely busy with visitors as clearly it is a well know meeting point for families and friends especially on a Sunday when we arrived.. The food both in the casual restaurant and the more formal one where we dined in the evening was very good and attentively served. There are nice grounds and an indoor and outdoor pool the use of which is reserved for hotel guests only. A great hotel and location for the traveller

Great hotel fantastic restaurantPosted Apr 28, 2014
Stayed for 1 night with my husband and sone age 11, en route to south of Spain. Hotel right next to motorway and short distance to Burgos. Fantastic restaurant, this is the 4 time we have stayed and would have loved to stay longer.

Definitely need a car...and GPS!Posted Apr 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
This is a lovely hotel...once you find it (even with my GPS, I missed the rather abrupt R turn into the property. You must turn BEFORE the gas station!)....and once you realize that the entrance really is those huge wooden doors! (When I peeked thru them and saw only heavy dense huge curtains, I thought I was in a storage room!) But once inside...it is charming! Beautiful decor, quiet, elegant. My room was on the small size, but I traveled solo and the bed was big and comfortable with lively linens. The bathroom had both a tub and shower. And tho I was on the freeway side of the tower, I didn't notice any noise. The walls are pretty thick stone! I had a coffee and basic hard roll for breakfast...5€. A bit pricey. (Later in the day at another location I had an even larger coffee plus a sandwich for 2€!) But I had a lovely dessert in the bar late at night...heavenly. This hotel is close to nothing...but a great place to relax and luxuriate.

Fairy tale castle:Posted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: Loved it . the grounds were beautiful and the pools large and easy to do laps and relax in.
Cons: don/t know
Location: right outside of Borgos. We were referred to an excellent restaurant with wood burning oven and excellent wines.
Drove in at night into a free parking area and greeted at the door to the tower> pleasant and very helpful.

OasisPosted Jul 1, 2013
Pros: The staff and service. The comfortable room.
Cons: We had difficulty finding the hotel.
Location: It would be helpful to have the actual address of the hotel, plus the GPS coordinates so that we could use GPS to navigate.
The hotel and accomodations were very grand, clean, and the service - staff were lovely. We ate at the hotel restaurant and were very happy with the meal, and perhaps more importantly, with the service! The staff provided professional service with the warmth and humour that we've come to know and appreciate of the Spanish people. We very much enjoyed our stay and will return again. Thank you!

nned a car to go to the must see sightsPosted Jul 22, 2012 on Hotels.com
this hotel is very peculiar. You feel you are in a small castle. is kind of hard to find the hotel. Its close to a highway.

Wonderful and Odd perfect stop over heading SouthPosted Jul 5, 2012 on Hotels.com
Fabulous and fabulously eccentric hotel that looks a bit like a castle. Rooms are large, individually decorated and some even have their own spa bath (for two...good for fixing that in-car bickering) Free fluffy slippers, wonderful comfortable bed and a restaurant so good people drive for miles to eat there. Its a bit more expensive than the average hotel but so far from average as to be a bargain! I guess the only drawback is the location which is off the motorway and not in town, this might tend to mean its only really ideal for a couple of nights, but nonetheless we intend to detour out of our way to go back there on our return journey from Spain.
