Clean and nice

Posted May 18, 2015
Location: Big Bear Lodge has great beer. Golfing was a blast.
I was very surprised for the level of quality in such a small town. Clean, in great shape, and easy check in and out. I will definitely stay here again.

Decent hotel - best in the area of limited options

Posted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: Indoor pool and spa. Quality TV.
Cons: Vending options and reliability.
Hotel is just fine for a short stay - not top end quality - kind of what you'd expect of this type. Hotel finishes, ceiling and so on looked old. Ceiling had a poorly installed tile system that looked as though it was from the 50's. It kinds smells old - but there are much worse. The free breakfast was very decent - better than I expected. The indoor pool and hot tub are very enjoyable features. The vending machines are garbage - don't take dollars - don't work half the time. So for late-night snacks, you have to run to a store - if you can find one that's open. That was kind of irritating.

Not up to Best Western Standards

Posted Jun 20, 2013
Too much was broken in this motel: the heater for the pool, the hot tub, the security doors, the directions in the room binder. The instructions for how to get onto wifi were incorrect, so I had to call the desk. The channel guide in the binder was not up to date, so I had to call the desk again to find out which ones are the HBO channels. I know that Burns is a depressed area, but so was the motel. I was really surprised, especially for $115 + tax.

Quiet, comfortable room

Posted Jun 19, 2013
Pros: Hot breakfast, rather than just muffins and juice
Cons: The heater in the pool was down while we were there but is being fixed.
Location: Malheur Wildlife Refuge, French Round Barn - none of which we visited but plan to in the future. Awesome quilt store in Burns!
Our room was clean and comfortable, even the beds were fine. I especially liked how quiet the hotel was. Our breakfast was decent - eggs and bacon, plus the usual muffins, etc. I appreciated some protein, besides hard-boiled eggs! The only down side of our stay was a broken heater in the pool but the new heater was waiting to be installed. It just made for a chilly swim for my son, though he swam in the hot tub instead. All in all, a positive experience.

Wonderful Hotel in a Small Town

Posted Feb 27, 2013
Pros: Clean, Quiet, Refrigerator, Microwave, Close to a Restaurant, and Breakfast.
Cons: I can't think of any, except, that I had to leave too soon.
Location: The Hotel is on the main road through Burns. Easy in and out.
Had to make a business trip to Burns and was very happy with my room. It had a small refrigerator and a microwave. The room was very quiet and comfortable. In the morning the breakfast was a nice surprise. Good parking and there is a restaurant within walking distance. Walked around the Hotel. There is a large pool and the grounds are well kept. Staff was helpful and pleasant. I will be staying there again when my business takes me back. I hope it will be soon.

Best hotel in the Burns, OR, general area

Posted Aug 15, 2011
We travelled to Burns to adopt wild mustangs from the BLM. This hotel had nice parking for a big pickup and stock trailer and was convenient to the BLM offices and corals. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean, modern, and comfortable. Breakfast was a nice bonus for the low room rate. I will stay there next time I come to Burns.
