“Black Orchid, Burrell Boom, Belize”

The staff treated my friend and I like family there. Our rooms were great and the meals are great there also. I would definitely like to stay there again. It was my first hotel in Belize and a great place to arrive to after a long trip. The setting is gorgeous also for nature lovers. It was great to have the use of kayaks and bikes to travel up river and into Burrell Boom! Sorry to leave!

“Sweet cottages on the water/Fantastic restaurant!”

No need to leave the sweet, neat cottages as all the amenities are there. The restaurant was fantastic, asian, fusion with a touch of traditional "Belize" flavors. We recommend this small well run hotel/cottages with a personal caring staff. Private cottages and private beach front.

“Love this Place!!!”

This is the best kept "secret location" in all of Belize. It is out by the airport, and it is beautiful; the rooms and details in the rooms are breathtaking. You are by the river, and they have canoes and paddleboats available; as well as a very nice size swimming pool. The food is prepared by a chef, not a "cook" and was the best food we ate during our entire stay in Belize. They even stock up on ice cream for the kids!!! And they provide transportation to the airport free of charge!! They also have an almost "formal" dining room, as well as places outside to dine, and a wonderful gift shop. My husband and I both can't wait to go back there; Beverly is especially wonderful, as well as the owner.

“Top Notch”

The staff was friendly and the surroundings pleasant. We had plenty of excursions to go on directly from the motel-Mayan Ruins, Scuba diving, horseback riding, zip lining, jungle walks etc. Ryan our/driver guide was with us through most of the tours and he was an invaluable resource. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a nice mix of Belize by sea and jungle without having to jump a plane.

“A good time in Belize”

We decided on Black Orchid for our first trip to Belize on the basis of online reviews, and we were not disappointed. It is a very pleasant and comfortable place in the rural area near Belize City, and the people there are very kind and helpful, booking trips to Lamenai Mayan ruins and to the Zip Line and Cave Tubing experiences. If we went back, we would stay there again, but would probably rent a car to have more flexible access to the rest of the country, as all the roads we saw were quite drivable. The hotel restaurant is the only one within walking distance, so we took all our meals there: fortunately, it is an excellent one.

Very nice resort hotel, conveniently located 20 minutes from the airport. I strongly recommend the Black Orchid to staying in Belize City. Good central location for excursions to Mayan ruins, caves and wildlife. Staff was great

“Well Spent Two Days”

We spent 8 days on San Padro, fishing, snorkeling and sailing. then 2 days at Black Orchid. I wish we had another couple days to do more on the mainland side. It was so easy to just decide where to go and they took care of everything. Next trip we will try another Island but then it will be back to Black Orchid.

I will definitely go back to this establishment, the staff is the best - friendly, helpful, courteous, and the hotel is beautiful by the river with the wildlife around. The rooms are large with wi-fi, cable, and phone. The have tours they will arrange and are very helpful and friendly. Thanks to all of the staff and owners!

“Great Getaway”

The Resort is really in the middle of the jungle. 15-20 min. away from the city. If you want Rest/Nature/ and away from the hustle and bustle of city living... then this is a great place to stay... but if you are looking for a on-the-go/active-adventure-nightlife then find another place. It's nice, clean, friendly staff and the 4 days of just rest is worth it ... Restaurant in the resort is not like the restaurant here in the city... so don't expect too much... but still we enjoyed the food...The resort offers some activities. No store that was near so probably buy something if you are in town.
