Inland RetreatPosted Aug 6, 2013
Excellent staff (very attentive); Clean and air-conditioned rooms; beautiful grounds (river, pool, greenery throughout). Most importantly - Free transportation to and from the airport. Tours to the country's most popular attractions can be made through the hotel, and the on-site restaurant is moderately priced, open till 9, and delicious.

The best place to chill at the end of a long trip.Posted Mar 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room/bathroom were beautiful, comfortable, and very clean. We'd been staying in some less than 1st world accommodations and this was the best place to end our trip.

Great HotelPosted Jan 11, 2013
Pros: It is on a river.
Location: Great location if you need to be close to the airport.
Great place to stay that is close to the airport, they have a complimentary shuttle that takes you to and from the airport. Hotel is on a River and they have kayaks, paddle boats etc, we saw howler monkeys in the trees close by. Dinner in the restaurant was fantastic, very fresh and tasty. They also supply a complimentary breakfast, why would you not stay here? Such a great, relaxing alternative to Belize city!!!!!

OverratedPosted Dec 5, 2012 on Hotels.com
I saw this place having really high ratings on some websites, and I found them to be undeserved. The location is nice with monkeys, iguanas and free canoes right on the river but service was sooper slooow, sometimes taking 30 mins to get a drink when not at all busy. Construction noises started at 7am and they tried to slip in an extra $80 charge at checkout (for food I didn't have). I also scheduled a tour with a guide I liked and they switched him to a more expensive tour and tried to stick me with another guide who was not really educated on the area. Not recommended.

Beautiful ResortPosted Nov 19, 2012
Pros: The staff was very friendly and I liked all the activities that you could do while staying there.
Cons: The wifi didn't work that well for me.
Location: It is pretty isolated which I liked.
The staff was very nice and friendly. Our room was nice and clean and spacious. I loved everything about the resort from the pool to the lounge area, it was very nice. My husband and I took advantage of the free use of the bikes and the paddle boat on the property and had a blast bicycling through the village of Burrell Boom and paddling on the paddle boat on the river. The food was alright. We really didn't eat that often there, because we were out and about most of the time, so we just ate out wherever we were. Overall, I would definitely stay again at the Black Orchid resort, should I ever come back to Belize. I would recommend it to anyone who likes a peaceful and serene place and likes the outdoors.

Not a bad place for the moneyPosted Oct 13, 2012
Pros: Gardens, quiet area.
Cons: Bathroom, rugs did not seem very clean.
Location: Convenient location, about 25 minutes drive to the airport. Quiet area away from the city.
Rugs in the bathroom could use some cleaning, or just get rid of them all together. Not a bad place to stay.
