Christmas break

Stayed for 6 days over Christmas thanks to the friends and family offer. Normally stay with son but staying at Village better option and less stressful. Good to be able to use pool and leisure facilities which are better than most other hotels.

Not the best village hotel

I like village hotels but this was a disappointing experience. Arrived after 11pm, room key failed to operate, 2nd time around it did, but found the room was occupied! Fortunately they were out. Third attempt worked. My window appeared to be directly above disco roof, which was very loud and went on until 1am..... to be fair the next morning breakfast was very good, but it wasn't the best nights sleep.

Had an issue with the room booking but the receptionist (Sarah) was excellent; the epitomy of fantastic customer service. Couldn't do enough to help, very friendly, professional and an example to all customer-facing employees out there! Also, housekeeping were at the room almost instantly to sort things out and again, they replicated the service at reception. have to say though that the food (room service) from the restaurant was a little disappointing; expensive and below par - not the first time I have eaten at the hotel only to be left short of impressed. Would I stay there again? Definitely! Would I have the restaurant food again? Very unlikely.
