“very convient”

Nice motel with a convient resturant next door. it's great once you arrive not to have to get back in the car and drive to find a place to eat.

“Satisfied”

The Baymont Inn & Suites in Wyoming, Michigan was an overall pleasant experience. The pool & hot tub as very clean and enjoyable. One word of caution for anyone with allergies to cigarette smoke - all the rooms in the hotel are now non-smoking, however our room was obviously a smoking room at one time and had the typical smell of it. There is no fridge and microwave in the room, so if you are counting on there being one you will be disappointed.

Area recommendations

We would recommend Grand Haven lake front - it is beautiful. If you or someone in your travelling group enjoys fishing - the fishing charters located on the waterfront is worth checking out. The salmon that some tourists had caught were stunningly displayed - the fish were a good size and very healthy looking. There is a place where the fish is cleaned for you as well - that was interesting to watch as well. (Note: Lake Michigan is frigid - we visited the very first part of September thinking that the lake would have warmed up by the warm summer - it was as cold as Lake Superior it seemed - Very cold! The beach itself is beautiful!) The town of Holland is very cute as well. The Windmill Gardens is very nice - but watch your timing they close rather early it seems. There are a lot of little shops in Holland with the Dutch feel - makes you feel that you almost went to Holland in Europe - but the cheaper way if you live in North America. The authentic working windmill, from the Netherlands, brought to it's present location in the Windmill Gardens, is very interesting and worth the time to tour it.

In Holland Michigan there are many different events check ahead of time to check them out ie. the tulip festival etc.

Outdoors or beach

The beach at Grand Haven is beautiful the beach itself is huge and there is camping right on the beach as well. The fishing at Grand Haven appears to be a pretty big thing.

“Nice place to stay. Verify convenient for visits to Byron Center”

I liked this hotel. It was quiet, clean, and conveniently located. The staff were friendly and courteous. The rooms were not impressive, but they were clean and everything worked. We used the ironing board and iron that came with the room. There is a bar and restaurant attached to the hotel. My wife and I went there once for a midnight snack. The food was OK. The continental breakfast was OK. I've had better Belgian waffles and definitely better pastries. However, at least they had a free continental breakfast. Regarding our opinions on food, keep in mind we're spoiled by the food here in the San Francisco bay area; the only food we really liked on the whole trip was Taco Bell. I would definitely stay here again.

“Good for the price”

The staff was great, very friendly. My original room had a problem with the lock and they had to change my room, but again the staff was great and helped move my luggage. The room was nice the only real negative was the breakfast had a limited selection.

“nice clean hotel”

Nice hotel. Staff was polite, except the lady that was there when we wanted to check in. We were told that we could have adjoining rooms with our friends who were also staying there, but the lady at the check in desk made it sound like that was completely out of the question. We then talked to a second person who worked at the desk (and that told us earlier on the phone that we could have adjoining rooms) and she made it happen.

“a pretty good hotel”

this is a nice hotel. Comfortable beds, chairs in the room, decent TV channels, clean room, convenient parking, restaurant next door, easy to get to off Rt 131, the pool was satisfactory as was the hot tub, the morning breakfast was good although it was only grain type food, no eggs/sausage,etc. The only complaint I have and I suppose it's rather minor is that when I was checking out, I wanted to print my boarding passes from the public computer, but it must have had a dial up connection because it was so slow I gave up in frustration. But this is a good hotel all in all.
