Beautiful building, needs updating & noise control
The Parador is a beautiful historic building. The rooms are outdated and need to be refurbished. The beds were moderately comfortable. However the hotel itself is the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in. You can hear everything, especially doors slamming, carts in the hall and staff talking loudly.

Great location
Very well situated with easy access by car. We used the on site parking which would be tight for a large car but good for use. We are at the restaurant which was good value.

The property is nice and the room too. However, the restaurant staff was really rude to us. If you travel with kids they will ignore you. We felt really bad.

This place is gorgeous
A fabulous place to stay. Like being in a fairy tale castle. Everything was very clean and neat. Our room was big and comfortable with a wonderful big bed. The place is quiet and radiates a calm and relaxed atmosphere. The lady at check-in was just sweet and super helpful all the time. Highly recommend this place.

Great experience, very comfortable rooms with all that one would require.Very clean and tidy all around hotel,with plenty of lounges to relax in. Superb buffet breakfast,if it was not on show ask and it was prepared for you,e.g. scrambled eggs. Sadly no Earl Grey tea though. Very helpful and friendly staff . The swimming pool was small with only a few loungers and parasols around it, not enough for the size of the hotel, although there were some casual seats around but without parasols.

parador in good location - easy to walk to everything. staff friendly - room very clean but I was expecting a more charming room - it could have been a room in any hotel. Air conditioning was not working (it was 85 degrees that day) we were told to open the windows.

A great hotel but more staff needed, would go back
If you go to stay in Trujillo, a nice medieval town, then it is hard to imagine there is a nicer place to stay than the Parador. I have stayed in a number of these, and like the others, this is an old building which has been modernised - in this case a former convent. Don't let that put you off - the building is superbly comfortable - our room had a separate sitting room, a jacuzzi and a separate shower and a separate toilet - it was more like a suite. The food at breakfast was good, with a wide range available. The only reason I have not given full marks is because on 2 days we were there, they had run of of fresh bread at 9:30 (breakfast goes to 11), and on one day milk as well. The milk was rectified quickly, but on one day fresh bread never turned up. The staff was generally very pleasant, perhaps not surprisingly only a few had some English. We gained the impression that breakfast and dinner would have run much better with a few more staff The Parador is a great place to stay, and without hesitation I would stay there again, but it does need a few more staff to be as good as some of the others I have stayed in

Set in a lovely town.
A lovely hotel in a great location. All you would expect a parador to be. It would have been nice to have 3 full size beds in a room for 3 adults and not a put you up bed. So nice to stay in such an historic building.

amazing parador
The parador was amazing, well kept, yet you can still feel the history. Location was great, the center was about 4 minutes walk. Breakfast was various and service was so friendly and helpful.

Comfortabel room - receptionists need to be better
Comfortable hotel in the midst of an nice town with restaurants and historic sites within walking distance. The reception staff seemed unconcerned about the guests. At checkout, when the bill was questioned (about the free parking I was charged for) the reception personnel seemed quite Could be better customer service. The room was clean, nice and comfortable.

Everything else was great about this hotel, but it would be nice to have menus English as we were clueless about what to order and in fact ended up eating elsewhere where we could understand the menu. Spanish dictionaries don't really cover food terms, except basic types of meat and veg.

Very good Parador, not as amazing as Plasencia Parador, but very good value Great location No need to pay for parking, there was plenty in the street, and nearby everything (it is a small town) Definitely order breakfast! Wifi could improve. Could be a little more quiet. Despite being a small town, there was quite the activity.

One of the best Paradors I have stayed in.
A very well run and pretty Parador with great facilities and centrally located in this very pretty, quiet and unspoilt Spanish Town. Highly recommend.

The parador experience
This hotel exceeded our expectations. Our room (320) was large and comfortable, with a separate seating area and a small balcony from which there are expansive views. We were in the old part of the building which is very characterful and spacious. The room was very quiet (perhaps due to the thick walls). Breakfasts were excellent but dinners were somewhat disappointing.

Excellent place to stay in quiet village
Excellent location for a quick stay in the small town of Trujillo, which warrants about a day to explore. State-run paradors are generally more expensive than hotels, but the historic building, excellent food, and helpful service made this stay worth paying the premium.

Great for a couple but not for 2 singles
This is a beautiful historic building and the room was spacious with a simple elegance. But we specifically reserved a room with 2 beds not next to each other and apparently that is impossible to get here. In fact, I think all beds consist of two twins next to each other whether you ask for one big bed or 2 twins. But unlike other hotels, they suggested we move the beds ( which we did) instead of offering to do so for us. BTW, I am a woman 60+ , which made it even more surprising. I usually travel as a couple so I don't know how common this problem is in Europe-- in the U.S. many hotel rooms have 2 large beds whether you want them or not.

Average Parador in an Above Average Location
The Parador occupies a great position at the eastern edge of this beautiful and historic old town. Easy to get to and with free secure parking available (if you park outside the garage). The building is superb and the rooms are of a comfortable size. Out of season, the air-conditioning is switched off no matter how hot the temperature is outside!! It was 28 deg. C when we were there and uncomfortably hot in the room even with the window open. The pool is also closed which seems crazy. Breakfast was OK but not on a par with the best wee have had in other paradors. We did not try the restaurant for other meals, preferring to walk the short distance into town for more choice and atmosphere.

I loved the hotel itself and the location was ideal, but felt that there were not enough members of staff around to give a proper service. There were only two on during breakfast although it was very busy - extremely difficult to get coffee on both mornings we were there. The receptionist was brusque when we checked in, which was a bad start. I probably would not stay there again

Trujillo parador surprise
The parador was truly beautiful. The condition of the old monastery is perfectly preserved and modern touches well integrated. The value was good as was the location.

Luxury!
This hotel was the most luxurious of anywhere I've ever stayed. It offers everything you need, at a price, and is as beautiful as the pictures suggest. The overall service was excellent, in particular the reception staff who were fantastic and helped us out when we were desperate. I would definitiely recommend this hotel!

This was a great place for a quiet rest. Trujillo is a lovely small town, and is a good base to explore Extremadura, with Merida and Caceres within easy striking distance. This was the first time we had stayed at a Parador, and would do it again. The building is an ex-convent, and is beautiful and full of character. The staff are helpful, and it is a very comfortable place to spend a few days.

Excellent hotel in every way. The staff is welcoming, kind and helpful. The room was top class. Extremadura surroundings is lovely with Montfragüe close if you go by car. We will definately come here again!
