“Best Hotel”

My wife and I spent two nights at this hotel and it was the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The room was excellent and the service was second to none. My wife and I have stayed at many five star hotels and this has been by far the best. We recently stayed at the 5 star Chateau Laurier in Ottawa for double what we paid at Hotel Duques De Medinaceli but it did not even come close to what we expereienced at this hotel. The only small thing I would comment on is the fact that not all the staff speak English, however this is not a complaint because I should learn how to speak Spanish. All the reception staff speak English and they are very helpful. Please stay at this hotel you will no regrets and for the price it is a bargain.

“"quiet elegance"”

We enjoyed our stay here very much, our up grade was a nice treat and as requested on the upper floor. the hotel is an oasis of calm , spotless, very beautifully furnished, and if i had the time i would have liked to sit on each and every one of the plush sofas !! the gardens are a treat to sit in, breakfast was lovely and no problem to have extra coffees, we ate dinner to the strains of the 10 tenors who were performing in a marquee in the grounds (such an unexpected treat ) all this for the wonderful price we payed thtough expedia ! So if you get the chance to experience this delightful place ....do !!

“Wonderful luxury”

Lovely boutique hotel with friendly staff. Fantastic rooms and exemplary service. Easy to get into Cadiz on the train. Only disappointment was the food which although beautifully presented did not live up to rest of the hotel.

“fantastic hotel”

stayed in October 06. On arrival were given a free updgrade to a suite. ( always a good start)The hotel is a beautiful old palace and very grand. We really enjoyed our week here.

“Great Hotel in Andalucia”

We had a fantastic time. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more efficient.We were upgraded to a junior suite but even if we had not been the bedroom and bathroom were large and extremely comfortable. The hotel is very near the railway station so very easy to get back and forth to Cadiz or Jerez but there is no train noise in the hotel. Very good breakfasts and award winning fine dining at lunch and dinner though we generally went out to eat. Beatiful gardens (Jacaranda trees in full bloom when we wer there)and lovely little pool with about 8 loungers. Great to have both sunny and shady corners to read or have drinks in the garden.

“Visit in February 2006”

It is a very nice boutique hotel with an open feel. The food in the dining room is prepared with a lot of butter, not the Mediterranean fare what one might expect. On the same block as the hotel is a bodega (Terry) where you can go for a tour of a an active Sherry bodega. The hotel also has parking in a secured lot. Overall it is a spacious relaxing space to spend a few days. Make sure to try one of the oranges in the garden!

“Beautiful property, poor service”

Whilst this hotel is set in lovely grounds and the central areas are very attractive we were disappointed by the level of service which I would say is 3*, rather than 5*. The attitude of the reception desk staff was generally quite unfriendly and the overall level of service variable. We made a couple of simple requests that were dealt with reluctantly and I was tutted at by a waiter when I sent back coffee that had already had milk added to it. The hotel is in a good area though for exploring this part of Andalusia.

“Terrible”

Room was dirty, bed was like laying on cement and open swimming pool was GREEN! Checked out after 1st night and received refund for rest of stay.
