Wonderful "top of the world" little hotelPosted Nov 5, 2013
Pros: The views from this hotel are incredible, and the location provides a nice "village" atmosphere with cafes and market just outside the door.
Cons: My only complaint was that there was not an awful lot of hot water for two showers one right after the other.
Location: If you want to explore the countryside and other White Villages of Andalusia, this makes a great base.
We had a thoroughly positive experience at this very well-priced hotel. The location is spectacular, high atop this "white village" hill-town. You feel like you're staying in a bird's nest. The hotel was very clean, and the staff was wonderful ....especially Lola!! Given the price, I felt this hotel was an excellent value. It's not five star, but that's not what I was expecting. It fulfilled all our expectations.

Off the charming scale!Posted Oct 18, 2013
Pros: The room with the patio that overlooked the valley.
El Convento is one of the most charming, picturesque places we have ever stayed. The foyer is small with a bar at the back that serves drinks, juices, etc. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. Our room was a good size with doors opening onto a large patio overlooking the valley below. The view was simply stunning. We rose early to watch the sunrise and it was unbelievably beautiful. Roosters crowing from a nearby farm and pealing church bells completed a truly pastoral scene. Breakfast could be taken on the patio for a small surcharge and we enjoyed a great breakfast from an a la carte menu while sitting in the morning sunshine. Can't say enough good things about this place!

A GemPosted Apr 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
We could not have been more pleased with this hotel. The location is very near many sights, especially the catheral. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Only difficulty we had was in finding the hotel initially. It is hotel with ten room and we highly recommend it.

Highlight of our hotel stays so farPosted Apr 27, 2012 on Hotels.com
The town is a little gem and the hotel located in the best area for history, feel and views. We were made warmly welcome by the staff and our bikes safely stored without fuss or extra charges. We had booked two terrace rooms for our family having read of the views but were still unprepared for just how stunning and dramatic is the cliff top setting. Sitting out on our terrace with an ice cold beer was close to heaven, Good breakfast next day and a friendly farewell. Could not have been better.

Il Convento, Arcos - Great viewPosted Apr 11, 2012 on Hotels.com
Would recommend upgrading to a room with terrace, since the view is amazing. Only fault is the hairdryer, which is nearly useless. Girl on reception in morning was very helpful. Streets nearby really narrow and cobbled - a tight squeeze with the car . Some nice restaurants right beside the hotel.

Hotel El ConventoPosted Oct 20, 2011 on Hotels.com
One of the best I have ever stayed in for the dollar. Quiet, central, helpful friendly staff, extraordinary view (1000 feet straight down - room with a balcony) & breakfast on a terrace with views for miles.

our first dayPosted Sep 27, 2011 on Hotels.com
we have travelled spain before, so we get a small car as lots of streets in the cities we visit, have very narrow streets, so our first day in our 2011 trip we came into town, the town is lovely , very picturesque, but to get to this hotel was impossible with a car. we got to the top of street that was it, but the hotel was impressive from the front, ones in side lovely old charm, and we had been upgraded to a patio with fantastic views over the edge of the cliff it sits on to the valley beyond, lovely. where the hotel is situated, is excellent for many of the town sights and some good tapas bars at the top of the street, which where very cheap but excellent food.

Very NicePosted May 7, 2010
There are really two hotel possibilities in Arcos-- the Parador and El Convento. They are literally half a block apart, share the same view, and both have nice service. El Convento is smaller and the service is more personalized. El Convento has wonderful sun patios off each room. Since we were celebrating a birthday-- we were greeted with Champagne and fruit-- nice touch. Would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Arcos.
