First time ..But not the last time.Posted Apr 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
A nice hidden little gem... great staff ..very quick to take care of any problems..(my TV died on my second day...it was replaced with a brand new flat screen the following day...amazing!!! stuff like that rarely happens in CR...I will be back !! P.S. get a room with a kitchen if you plan to stay more than a few days...

Room was spacious which was because of bunk beds but as an adult I personally would have preferred the bunk beds separated. I felt claustrophobic. Perhaps they could make some Cabinas with single beds and double beds . Excellent cleaning services which we were nicely surprised by .excellent staff and very accommodating for our needs.not easy to find at night but ask anyone and they'll be able to tell you it is located in town. We walked at night to and from the Center of town without worrying however some may feel frightened. I would not recommend walking alone even though as a group we felt safe..
perfect choicePosted Mar 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
the cozy small guesthouses with kitchen are very convenient located, the owner is very friendly, it is quiet and very safe there. Beach, Nationalpark, Downtown Cahuita are just around the corner. We liked it a lot!

Excellent location- close to the beach and townPosted Jan 8, 2014
Pros: Free Wi-Fi, affordable, friendly staff, affordable price.
Cons: Central air in the rooms.
Location: Public beaches, Cahuita Nat'lPark (for hikes, snorkeling, swimming in the sea), close to Cahuita for restaurants and bars, Sloth Sanctuary nearby
Cabinas Caribe Luna was a quiet, friendly place to stay in Cahuita. The staff was extremely accommodating when we needed a taxi to go into Penhurst to visit the Sloth Sanctuary, and also said they could arrange tours for Cahuita Nat'l Park or snorkeling. There was also free Wi-Fi. The reception staff recommended great restaurants to eat at in Cahuita. Also, the Interbus dropped us off and picked us up from there. The cabin was clean and tidy, and they decorated it with Christmas as we visited just after Xmas. It included a little porch with our own hammock to lay in. There was only a ceiling fan, no central air, so it was a little hot in the afternoon and evenings. We would definitely stay here again!!

Snorkel and Jungle hikePosted Nov 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
The caimans were very basic. They had a nice patio with a table where we ate. It was a little warm in the canines since they didn't have air conditioning. It cooled down at night with the fans. The location was a short walk into town where they had nice restaurants. We went snorkeling a couple of blocks from our room. You have to have a guide to go snorkeling inside the park. It was only $25 for a 5 hour tour which included almost two hours of snorkeling and a 4 kilometer hike through the forest. We saw more varieties and of fish in the park than any other place we've been to. There were huge schools of fish. The walk through the jungle took us from the tip of Cahuita Park back into town. We saw sloth, monkeys, anteater, green horned viper, and numerous birds. The trail goes right along the beach. Well worth the time and money.

Wonderful Experience!Posted Aug 26, 2013
Pros: Loved the location, the suite, the porch with hammock etc.
Cons: Water to purchase on site would be a great addition, but the daily walk to the store was not a problem.
Location: Cahuita is a great village, felt very safe, great food and lots to do!
Cabinas Caribe Luna was a wonderful place to stay and experience an authentic Costa Rican vacation. The facilities are quite clean and the staff was very friendly and always ready to answer questions and help with arrangements. The two on site dogs Negra and Luna made us feel right at home and even escorted us around occasionally. I was travelling with 2 teenagers who were quite happy to find wifi available in the reception area. The local howler monkeys provided an effective alarm clock and the local sloth even made an appearance! The lack of air conditioning was not a problem as the ceiling fans made each night quite comfortable. Nuria recommended a local surfing instructor named Tito (who was incredibly kind and patient and we loved him - strongly recommend him!) and all three of us actually managed to stand up on the surf boards by the end of our lesson. All together a wonderful experience and a true reflection of Pura Vida! Can't wait to go back to Cahuita and Cabinas Caribe Luna.

Cabinas Caribe LunaPosted Apr 17, 2013
This is a very basic cabin. We stayed 2 nights and it was adequate for our needs. If we were staying longer I would say it would be nice to have some comfortable seating in front of the television instead fo 2 hard wooden chairs with no cushions. The staff is very friendly and helpful as are the 2 dogs, Luna and Negro who do their best to make you feel at home.
