Fabulous place to stayPosted Jan 16, 2015
Location: It is only 8mins from the airport and such a lovely quiet place without any hustle and bustle.Need milk, bread, wine or dine out? all within a 5min walk
We arrived to a lovely warm welcome from the staff and the rooms were so clean and the decor is marvellous. They had the airconditioner and fans running so the room was cool for us when we opened the door. The balcony was terrific to be able to see the beach but I am suggesting an inside apartment would be just as pleasing because the pool and the gardens were terrific too. Would highly recommend the resort and Holloways beach is just beautiful.

Great hotel Great positionPosted Dec 30, 2014
Pros: Position, quietness, amenities friendly staff.
Cons: Just the noisy people upstairs moving the furniture all the time.
Location: The location was close to Cairns to experience the wonderful restaurants and close to all the sightseeing activities - the rainforest and the reef
We have just spend a really relaxing 5 days here. We loved the position and the amenities were wonderful. Close to Cairns and all the wonderful attractions to visit. Loved sitting on the balcony having breakfast after a walk along the beach which was only across the road. Will definitely visit again.

Nice hotel, excellent cafe across the streetPosted Nov 26, 2014
Very nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff who gave us an early check-in. There is a great cafe acroos the street that is right on the beach and does excellent breakfast. All the tours come and pick you up at the hotel which is great and the neighbourhood is quiet and relaxed. Only drawback is it is 10km from central Cairns so it is either an expensive cab ride or local bus, which is cheap but last bus back leaves at 8.45pm.

Nice hotel. But smoking is allowed on balconiesPosted Oct 10, 2014
Cons: No smoking on balconies.
Location: Great restaurant across the road. Shop and ATM nearby. Close to beach and close and 10mins by car into cairns city.
Great location. close to Cairns and beach. Didn't like how smoking is permitted on balconies as the balconies are side by side and we got a smoker next door to us. YUK!

great locationPosted Sep 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
We had a wonderful stay and would return. It was peaceful and out of the way of the crowds. Getting around was relatively easy with a bus service basically outside the door. The only negative of the 120 bus is it only runs every hour and last bus on a sunday is 5.30pm from Cairns. We hired a car for 2 days and this was done via Glen at the front desk, to easy. The room was comfortable and had all that you would need. A bonus for us was the sunday market at Holloways beach.

Good value vacation apartmentPosted Jul 31, 2014
I thought we got what we paid for. It was a suitable accomodation for three adults who were not planning on spending much time at the accomodation.

Nice large unit next to quiet neighbourhood beachPosted Jul 30, 2014
Cons: Update INTERIOR of rooms - especially bathroom, kitchen and all furnishings
Location: nice long beach.
Very uneventful stay. Large one bedroom unit, nice mature well kept grounds, in a predominately residential area. Highly suggest having a automobile whilst there to get around, as really no restaurants or shopping nearby. Only issue was interior was a bit dated, but was clean and well maintained. But considering the price, excellent value, particularly for small family.

Well worth the stay!Posted Jul 25, 2014
Pros: The Australis Resort is in a nice quiet location away from the noise of the city. However it is only 10 minutes or so by car from the centre of town.
Location: The hotel is right on the beach with a cafe across the road. It is also only 5 minutes away from the Skyrail and easy access to the main highway north
It was our first time at this hotel and we enjoyed the 5 nights there. We got a friendly welcome when we checked in. Our room was clean and comfortable. We used the bar-B-que area and everything we needed was there, including all the cooking utensils. The king size bed was nice. When we checked out, the staff stored our luggage so we could go on a whale watching cruise. We returned that afternoon and were able to collect our luggage and make our flight with plenty of time.

Great escapePosted Jun 30, 2014
Next to the beach, cafe and away from the bustle, this is a great place to unwind and appreciate the environment. As a solo traveller, i found this a perfect spot to immerse with locals and get a taste of real beachside community living. Shame the beach has so many dogs being walked, but if you can get over this, then enjoy your stay!
