Lots of room changesPosted Nov 22, 2013
Pros: Not too many people, nice and quiet, nice pool.
Cons: Might be due for wondow blinds, bench tops, mirrors. Looking a little worn. Wifi didn't work half the time and was super slow when it did.
Location: About 15 min walk from the esplanade and 10-15 min from the shopping centre. Would have been nice to be a little closer with the heat/humidity.
We arrived at 4 am and used the 24 hr check in. The receptionist was confused and did not want to give us the one labelled room key so she gave us a master key and told us to go to a room that had people in it (awkward!). She then gave us the other room but we were told we would have to move rooms later. Two days later we had to pack everything up and put it in storage because the room needed to be cleaned and we couldn’t just put our things in the new room. Then we were put in a room that we were told was only for one night and the new room would be ready early enough for us to just move our things straight into. We checked the next morning and were told the room was not ready and we could wait a little for it to be cleaned, we wasted half a day waiting and then we had to take our luggage down to storage again anyway. There is no lift so carrying everything up and down 3 flights of stairs was getting frustrating. While we were there another late check in had walked in on other people as well, the staff need to figure out which room they are putting people in as it is unacceptable and embarrassing to walk in on people. Once we got into the 3rd room we were quite comfortable but it was very disruptive staying in 3 rooms over the week.

Hotel room was little more than hostel accommodatiPosted Nov 2, 2013
Hotel room was little more than hostel accommodation, breakfast was almost non existant with a few pieces of bread supplied for the toaster, and some sachets of coffee for you to make hot drink We were on the flight path for Cairns airport, so good proximity to airport but rather noisy. Pool was little more than a garden pond. The patio doors were impossible to open unless you were Hercules and the lock which didnt work had been replaced with a security chain, which was also very difficult to undo

Hotel was close to esplanade and shops.Posted Sep 13, 2013
Pros: It's close proximity to all shops and the esplanade.
Cons: Personally I think the rooms need an update e.g. new cupboards in the room and the vanity in the bathroom needs replacing as well.
Location: Everything was within walking distance.
The overall experience at the city Sheridan was ok, the staff were friendly and helpful. I do however think the room/s need an update.

Short break in CairnsPosted Jun 26, 2013
Pros: Very helpfull staff
Cons: Traffic noise.
The hotel is centrally located and suitable for a short stay. It is one of the older types and is now looking a bit tired. We did think it needs double glazing on windows that face the main street as the car noise was annoyingly loud and constant when the sliding door is open. It is also listed as non smoking and many guests did not adhere to this policy and smoked on balconies and foyers making the smell of cigarettes unpleasant in our rooms. Sometimes other guests were not very considerate with the amount of noise they made late at night and early morning, not good when there are small children staying. I guess there is not much you can do about bad manners. The very helpfull staff made up for the above and the weather was great.

Pleasant stay for a short holidayPosted Jun 22, 2013
The hotel was well located, not so far from the airport and not so far from the city. My friend and I enjoyed staying there, the bed was comfortable enough.

Cairns City SheridanPosted Jun 8, 2013
Pros: Good location to both CBD and airport
Cons: Bathroom very old
Location: Location good
A little disappointed. On the third floor and have to walk up six flights of steps. Good for backpackers and younger people
