Fabulous hotel!Posted Jun 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
We went to Palm cove for a wedding and wanted to stay somewhere close by. When we arrived, we couldn't believe our luck - the hotel was fantastic! We were upgraded to an amazing 2 storey room and the ladies at reception couldn't have been any nicer and helpful. The pool was a little cold but besides that, a top place to stay - great value x

Awesome pool and location in Palm Cove!Posted Nov 8, 2012
Pros: The pool and location
Cons: Only one sun lounge on the balcony
Location: Location is fabulous for walks along the beach or to the many restaurants and cafes
Magnificent pool and location! Our apartment was very spacious and well equipped. The gardens and water features were lovely and well maintained. We will be back again!

Dirty, Unkept - with Great PotentialPosted Feb 12, 2012
Pros: Location, layout of rooms
Cons: Dirty, lack of staff
Location: While on the property, one feels like you are in the tropical rainforest, but stepping outside and you are steps from the beach.
We rented a 2 bedroom compact apartment. While the layout was superb, the rooms were dirty, had small ants EVERYWHERE, and had extremely poor lighting. The hotel staff although friendly was minimal. The one elevator in our building had a foul odor. The entire facility appeared to be unkept and managed on a tight budget. Signs outside indicate that that all or part of the property was in receivership, but has been purchased. We loved the location, and the property has such great potential; we were, however, disappointed. One note: the one swim net for Palm Cove was a long walk down the beach from the property.

Overall a pleasant and stayPosted Jan 16, 2012
Pros: attractive hotel , good value
Cons: more sun needed around pool area
Location: fantastic location to beach and shops
Overall I enjoyed my stay in the hotel once I settled in. The hotel is well kept, with modern architecture and inoffensive decor .... The pool area is a problem in as much as there is very limited area to sun bath due to the beautiful surrounding garden. The studio room I stayed lacked some pratical items , bench space to prepare food in the kitchen area , cockroach spray:), bench /stand for the suite case , Did like the containers they supplied .... once I worked not to leave food out even if its covered .

Comfortable and relaxingPosted Oct 6, 2011
The rooms are a nice size and the pool view is great. The pool is massive, surrounded by trees and a unique shape. The room cleanliness wasn't the best, our microwave had crumbs through it and some of our glasses weren't the cleanest. The hotel is located on the main st in Palm Cove so a five minute walk and you had a choice of a number of restaurants. A Coles supermarket is a five minute drive towards Cairns. Overall, it was a comfortable place to stay and the big winner was the pool.

Grand Mercur Palm Cove is a tropical oasis.Posted Sep 6, 2011 on Hotels.com
We have been guests at this resort hotel for many years. The staff could not have been more friendly and obliging. Accommodation is excellent, close to the charming village of Palm Cove and the location is right across from the beach. Eat in your suite or out at one of the many very good restaurants. There are many attractions to entertain the visitor or one can chill out completely by the huge pool or in the jaccusi.

Generally satisfied but with a few shortcomingsPosted Dec 20, 2009
Our stay at the Grand Mercure Rockford was very pleasant. It was well located and had quite an appealing foyer and pool area. The pool, however, was in need of some repair (tiles missing) and would have been enhanced by more shaded areas for the sun lounges. Our room, on level 4 (top floor), was clean and comfortable although the bathroom was inadequately lit. The balcony overlooked a well-maintained rainforest garden with glimpses of the main pool area. We enjoyed the birdlife during the day but found the cacophony of frogs from dusk onwards irritating athough they couldn't be heard from within the apartment when the balcony door was closed. We were a little disappointed that the main on-site restaurant (Portobello) wasn't open for breakfast or lunch and that there were no refreshments available around the pool area.
