Perfect place to go away and relaxPosted Sep 12, 2013
Pros: The hotel is beautiful, the service excellent.
Cons: We looked for a place with a gym so could keep training, the gym of the hotel is really dissapointing, is missing important equipment.
Location: The locacion is beautiful and the area quiet and friendly, close to shops and nice restaurants
The hotel is a beautiful oasis, perfect to get away from the city and disconnect. The staff was great, very proffessional and passionate about their work. The food at the restaurant was superb. Few families with children made it a bit noisy, which isn't great if you want to sleep in. The gym is missing equipment which makes it not really useful. In general, beautiful hotel and area, lovely stuff. I will stay there again when I go back there.

Could be a 10Posted Sep 11, 2013
The hotel was nice. We received good service on check in & our room was clean & perfect for what we needed with the only issue being its location! Right above the kids pool. While there are signs asking parents to keep kids screaming to a minimum there was no enforcement of this at all. Even at night when people were dining in the alfresco dining area. Parents should be more responsible but when they don't do the respectful thing the hotel staff should step in for the sake of other guests. We were also on our honeymoon & the hotel were very kind & gifted us a discount voucher for the spa. Unfortunately we were unable to use it with available treatment times not suiting us. On check out I asked if the discount $30 could go towards the room service & was told no. I thought this was a little disappointing. Overall we liked the hotel just not all the screaming kids. Location, on site parking & beach access were great.

Absolute Waterfront - Solo Traveller RetreatPosted Sep 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
Friendly and unobtrusive service were the hallmark of my stay. The rooms are spotless and properly replenished everyday and any requests left on notes for housekeeping were always magically done when I returned to my room. The food is excellent - try the crispy barramundi and the juicy beef! I went for rest and relaxation - yes there were folks with young children there but mostly couples or adult families - I will be back.

Comfort may not be guaranteedPosted Aug 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
Looking through the reviews, becoming aware of the noise problems from weddings, it still did not occur to me that the restaurant would actually be totally unavailable to the other guests. That was the case for the first two nights of the three nights stay there. Room service was recommended but no chair or table in the studio room to eat at. Having breakfast in bed might be nice but dinner is a little awkward. I was not prepared for that sort of inconvenience at a five star resort. The first night was hopeless, as arriving after dark, not seeing any lights on the way, going out was not really a preferred option. The restaurant was available for breakfast and it was fine. However, other accommodation in the area basically has their restaurant along the esplanade and you could be having breakfast looking over the ocean, whereas the restaurant at Sea Temple has no view really. I was mindful of the noise problems of various kinds from the reviews and so requested a quiet room at booking. Nevertheless, I woke up at around 4:30 am because of some noise. It kept turning on and off and I struggled to sleep. I went outside in the end and heard huge noise that might have been generated by some motor or something coming from downstairs. It was meant to be a short relaxing holiday but seems unlucky in the choice of accommodation. It did not provide a basic comfort for eating and sleeping let alone relaxation.

Great kid friendly resortPosted Aug 26, 2013
Pros: Kid friendly!
Cons: Pool bar menu, less weddings or a dedicated wedding space so guests could eat outside!
Location: Hartleys Crocodile farm is a must!
Very relaxing resort, however very family orientated, virtual every guest has a child or two (or one on the way). Would definitely go back with the kids and the beach is lovely and very close. There are a few (too many) weddings... We had one every day that we stayed and it was annoying that guests could sit outside to eat in the restaurant as the priority went to the wedding... They should perhaps consider a wedding only area so guests can use the 'premium' spaces! The pool bar food menu was average, they made it too fancy for a relaxed setting. However, breakfasts, the hotel itself and the pools were all fantastic.

Great loactionPosted Aug 26, 2013
Pros: Great location near beach, not too far to walk to Palm Cove
Cons: Pool area often in shade not enough sunlight with big trees blocking light.
Location: Friendly locals,
Beautiful part of the country, close enough to Cairns and attractions without being too busy.

Disappointing... Room was great but service bad...Posted Aug 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
We chose this hotel to have a relaxing stay after a long trip and the room was amazing but the pool was freezing, spa was cold and dirty. We went down to the spa to relax and my girlfriend got hit by a beach ball twice by some guys who were playing, then they threw a dirty nappy into the pool and we and no option to lock into our room.
