Great Location

Posted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: Location, staff and room size.
Cons: Bathrooms need an upgrade
The hotel is a little warn out and needs some maintenance. The bedrooms were a great size. Breakfast was shocking for $30 per person and I would recommend going to a local cafe instead. The staff were very pleasant and all too happy to assist. It is in a great location and there is a fantastic skate park right across the road that my son had a ball in.

Nice hotel, good location and helpful staff.

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: Staff, location and value for money.
Cons: I see that the hotel is being refurbished this year (?). This would give it that extra 'edge'.
Location: The Esplanade and the shops and restaurants running parallel to it are great. There is also the pier, the gardens and the city center.
We had a late flight and this was no problem (24 hour check-in). We had contacted the hotel for extra pillows and blankets, and these were in our room when we arrived. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the room was comfortable and clean. The lap pool was very warm and sunny (although being August, the main pool was a little cool, which is to be expected). The hotel's location was great for walking on the esplanade and to local restaurants, shops and the night market and down to the pier. We were also within walking distance to the Botanic Gardens (about 3 km).

Pleasant hotel, great staff

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Cons: Raise the temperature of the front pool. Even coming from Melbourne, it was cold!
Location: Coffeeworks: coffeeworks.com.au Hartleys Croc Adventures - only $35 if you just drive there yourself, and includes the boat ride.
I stayed with a friend for 4 nights in August 2014, 5th floor mountain view room. There was some confusion regarding room type, but this was quickly rectified by reception staff. Wanted a twin room, but had been issued a single queen bed. The hotel is in a fairly quiet part of town, probably walking distance for some people, but having a car made the difference for us, wanting to be independent of guided tours and schedules. The room was fine, though starting to show some signs of age. Shower water pressure is awesome. Didn't try the breakfast buffet, but the dinner Fire & Ice buffet is delicious. Business trip

Posted Jul 31, 2014
Pros: Sea view
Cons: Bathroom needs updating but fine
Really helpful staff, they booked my trips and all went well. Rooms are clean and quiet. Forget the airplane noise , there are about 8 flights and day and the planes fly out over the bay so all hotels are effected. Really easy to walk into town, about 10 minutes. You can walk along the sea front... Good path. Completely. Safe. Hotel is a favour for the japanese who are really polite and quiet. You must get a room with a sea view, it is well worth it. Thanks will book again.

Good location close to facilities.

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Everything was enjoyable
Cons: Stop sending these emails if people dont respond to the first one! If they are like me they are probably too busy to spend time filling it in.
Location: Kuranda Railway is a must do!
Within walking distance of all faciliities. Enjoyable stay.

Everything was great except the bathroom

Posted Jul 19, 2014
Everything was great, great facilities and just far enough down the esplanade to get away from the tourists. However, our bathroom had mould all over it and all the silicon around the edges was green with mould. We got the cleaner to come and disinfect the bathroom but not all the stains and mould could ne removed....needs to seriously be replaced as that really let it all down.
