Excellent property. One of the best we have stayed in. The staff was very helpful and they took care of everything. Beautiful Marina views and a lot of dinning options available. The only feedback is the restaurant within the hotel could have more food options available, specially vegetarian

The sea view king room was fairly comfortable. We appreciated the Nespresso machine for our morning coffee fix as well as the private deck overlooking the esplanade. The room was quiet. The bed was a bit too firm for me, and the pillows were too soft. I requested firmer pillows and then they were very hard, so we were unable to find a happy medium. Other than a closet with a few hangers, there was no where else to put our clothing (no drawers). The hotel is conveniently located near the main marine terminal and to the lagoon pool, shops, and restaurants. Most of the staff, particularly at the front desk, were quite friendly. We enjoyed the cocktails at the pool bar as well as lunch at the Backyard.

It’s a shame that the property is not well-maintained, despite having so much potential being in a prime location. The room where we stayed at unfortunately was at the far end of the west or south wing, we had to take 2 lifts that wasn’t connected to get to the room so it wasn’t convenient, but the worst part is that our room was in front of a cleaner closet and was constantly messy, the carpets are very old and smells mouldy, quite unpleasant. On the bright side, the cleaners were very lovely and attentive to our needs, very appreciative of their help during our stay.

The property is in my opinion in the best location of all Hotels in Cairns. So conveniently close to all of the best things to do and places to eat in Cairns. Room was so spacious and well maintained and the staff were excellent. Special mention to Cleaner Joanne and front reception Aldi for going the extra mile and making us feel so welcome and looked after. Will only stay at this hotel any time I come to Cairns no doubt. Thankyou Shangri-La Cairns we loved our stay.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like! Convenient to the pier where the Barrier Reef cruises left(maybe 75yards) and tons of eating places within easy walking distance. Highly recommend!

Great location, the Shangri-La is right next to the pier where the Great Barrier Reef tours depart. Our room was large with a great view of the harbor and Esplanade. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was very good. Complete amenities.

The Shangri-La is a very comfortable hotel in the perfect location in Cannes, right next to all the Barrier Reef excursion departure and a short walk to the Esplanade. It was a very long walk to our room, and the property doesn't quite live up to other Shangri-Las we have seen, but the view was gorgeous, the room was spacious and clean, and the service was excellent.

Unfortunately 3 nights were spent in 3 different rooms meaning a lot of changing around and a generally unsettled experience. Room 1: Originally booked a Deluxe Seaview room and was happy with it - the room was fresh, clean and seemed to have had a somewhat recent facelift. Bed and bathroom were great, as was the balcony and view which was enjoyed. There were a few minor maintenance issues but was happy to overlook these for an overall sense of cleanliness, comfort and the view. On night two there was a very audible, heavy bass beat and sound of a live singer from under the room. Reception they advised it was an external bar under the hotel and as it was a Friday night it would be going until at least midnight. Therefore they offered a room change, and although I didn't want to pack up at that time of night, they compromised with a room across the hall. Room 2: This was similar to the original room with a view into the internal tropical gardens and was of the same standard. I would say the bass of the bar below was still audible but to a lesser extent and I was able to sleep with earplugs. Room 3: The hotel kindly upgraded me to a suite which went above and beyond along with breakfast as an apology for the disruption. I believe was a Marina Suite and while this afforded more space and a view as had been booked, the overall quality of the room seemed lesser than the original Deluxe Seaview. Overall the staff were excellent however room product not in keeping with Shangri La
