Great stay although expected more.Posted Oct 17, 2013
Pros: The look of the hotel - it was a Palace so you can feel its history and grandness. The food was OK and room service was great. The pool was nice.
Cons: The spa area could be renovated, needs some improvement.
The location was great, central to main streets in Cairo. Walking distance from many restaurants, cafes, Diwan bookstore. The only problem was that our room (with the Nile view) was terribly noisy from the traffic. Cairo is quite polluted too so there wasn't much to see from the balcony. Since the hotel is so big, we felt quite secluded from the hotel restaurants and various amenities. If I were to go back, I would prefer to stay near the garden and pool for a more relaxing scene.

Marriott Zamalek the best place to stay in CairoPosted Aug 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
I was in Cairo during the military crackdown, and i can't think of a better place to be stranded than the Marriot in Zamalek. There is no more pleasant place in Cairo on a summer evening than the Marriott gardens. Also a great place for mornig meetings before the sun gets too high. The pool is beautiful, and i even played tennis early every morning with a wonderful coach -- Osama. Service is impeccable, and always with a smile. The circumstances in Cairo were pretty tense, but I felt safe and very well cared for at the Marriott. I can't wait to return.

Oasis of calm and luxury in CairoPosted Jun 3, 2013
Cons: Nothing to complain about.
Location: Perfect for Cairo exploring.
It really doesn't get much better than this. An oasis of calm in the busy heart of Cairo.

A nice hotel. Very comfortable place. My wife and I were in the executive room. Had breakfast and dinner included in our package. Was the best choice. Only down side, free internet is restricted to 18th floor executive lounge. So we had to provide our own internet for everywhere else. The location is very secure and overlooks the Nile.
